Weekend plans-alike, but for Xmas!

Who's going most Xmassy? Prolly not me as:

Last night - Tuesday footy group Xmas night out. Kebabs in our usual post-footy boozer. I didn't play as I'm carrying a knock, but met in the pub after. Had my kebab and drove home. Laugh of the night our legendary mate Mick taking offence at being ordered grub - 'everyone knows I don't eat when I drink!'

Today - kids' Xmas jumper days at both schools. Pics to follow.

This Sunday - 'Xmas Day' with the outlaws. They live in Woodstock, in the shadow of Blenheim Palace, so has a great Xmas vibe.

Next Saturday - 'Xmas Day' with my folks, Sister and her chap. Taking them all out for Xmas lunch at a decent place not far from ours.

Monday 23rd - early flight to Mexico. 2 weeks of (hopefully) sun and relaxation. All booked before my main client revealed they were bringing January reporting dates for December numbers forward, so year end is essentially the day we land. That should be fun! (Having not been away for October half term, feels like years since I've had a holiday!:D)

Xmas Eve - likely hotel gala dinner or somesuch

Xmas Day - hotel likely to have a load of things going on

Similar to above for NYE

You?

I complete six weeks of abstinence on Friday. I've not had any alcohol, nicotine (my vape use had got bad, but went cold turkey and knocked it on the head), caffeine, drugs or junk food since the start of November and I've replaced snaking on crisps, sweets and chocolate with fresh fruit as well as eating a balance diet. Lost some decent weight and feel great, but I'm dying for a glass of wine and a treat.

No point pretending I can keep this up and stay sane over Xmas, so the feasting, merriment and indulgence can begin.

Eyeing a kebab on Friday night to end the fast and then Saturday I'm up town for festive drinks and then down to Brighton for the rest of the weekend. Probably Dusky at Patterns on Saturday night. Looking forward to it.

Usual family thing Xmas Day and Boxing Day and hopefully some decent nights out in between. Still not sure of NYE/NYD plans. I'm not just saying this because Im older, but the programme just isn't as appealing as it was 5 years ago.

Phonox with Shanti Celeste ANL is the only thing that has semi caught my eye

I'll be honest December has already been a slog...have hit the socials hard! Been a few 40th parties peppering the usual xmas socials!

This weekend gonna take kids ice skating at Brighton Dome and then probs get a bite to eat somewhere after

Usual routine for xmas itself...up to my parents in Norfolk on the weekend before....think we are doing some kind of festive lights outing in the forest on one of the evenings and the rest of the time will be spent eating, drinking and being merry!

Xmas Eve...drag the kids to the work kids xmas party in the office in the morning...evening eating in the local pub with some mates and all the kids. Back in good time to leave a glass of something out for the big fella and some carrots etc before bed!

Xmas day the kids will be up at silly o'clock...bit of brekkie and down to Brighton beach for the swim...I say swim but usually its a run in and run out job. Glass of something on the beach after with usual crowd of mates who head down. Few close friends then back to ours for a few drinks and snacks before everyone goes off and does their own thing. Afternoon head to the in-laws for lunch.

Exciting few weeks ahead, heading to London on Friday, planning to do as many christmasy things as possible, few drinks in soho before I head to fabric for groove armada.

Meet up with the in-laws on Monday, work Christmas drinks on Wednesday, Thursday last ever day at current job.

Friday the real adventure begins, me and the cat setting off on the long drive from Cardiff to Malaga to start our new life in southern Spain. Bought a bar 9 months ago, partner has been out there running it on his own while I’ve been sorting all the boring stuff out. So for me Christmas Day will be spent with friends in the sun.

Exciting times there! Could we have cat and then ex-pat-cat photos please? :D

While we're on the subject of cats, a quick update on our new roommate, the car ride home from the breeder went well, and since he squeaks like an out-of-tune electric guitar rather than meowing, he's already got a name.... Hendrix !

I’m loving all these pet photos 😍

My Christmas this year should be fairly quiet, I’m working apart from the weekends and bank holidays. Will spend the big day with my parents, and probably go to their house again on Boxing Day for a second lunch with all the leftovers 😂

Heading to Sheffield for one last rave of the year for Rebooted on the 28th - my friends have been nagging me to go so I’ve given in. It’s going to be a lot of driving!

New years plans involve staying in with my dog. Am working New Year’s Eve and back in on the 2nd January so will just enjoy an extra day off.

Dog tax paid 😂

Always wanted a Bengal and finally took the plunge and rehomed Alfie in May. For the first 5 months I regretted it, mainly my fault for trying to keep him as an indoor cat but since then he’s been class.
