*sings* Oh the weather outside is...erm...surprisingly mild actually....

What are your plans? Me:

Working up to Xmas Eve, but we already had our MBNO (Monthly Boys Night Out) Xmas night out last weekend and I'm planning a Guinness 0.0 Leo Sayer with some old friends in our 'childhood' local on 23rd.

Xmas Day - my folks have just announced they think they will be well enough to come to us for Xmas Dinner. My kids are so pleased, as that's not been the norm for the last few years. We normally go away, for 2 weeks, as no family visiting, but the kids were desperate to wake up at home on Xmas Day, and folks coming is an added bonus.

29th Dec - leave for 7 days sun in Tenerife. Land back on 5th Jan and straight into reporting week at work. HPNY to me!

Out with friends this Saturday and the following Saturday up the local juicers.

Christmas Eve ( may do mass if the Mrs tells me were doing mass ). Quiet Christmas day with the family.

Bruges on the Eurostar on the 27th-30th for Christmas market, Belgian beer and chocolates. Never been before so any tips welcome.

No plans for NYE yet.

We are doing Ghent 27th -29th on the Eurostar, Ghent is about half an hour closer to Brussels than Bruges, so not quite as long on the train. But Bruges is really nice...not been at Christmas time, but great bars, Le Trapiste is one I remember...in an old cellar

I’m working Christmas Eve until about lunchtime-ish. I’m in charge of Christmas lunch this year so my parents are coming over to mine on Christmas Day. At least it means I can have a drink or two! Wish me luck 😂

Depending on if I’m still marathon training (got an injury niggle that’s bothering me a bit at the moment), I’ll be running a half marathon Boxing Day 😬 will probably head down to my parents house for lunch after that.

27th I’m heading up to Sheffield for rebooted for a Christmas get together with some of my friends.

Back to work on the 29th. No plans for New Year’s Eve, maybe a Prosecco or two at home but that will be it and the end of 2025. Roll on 2026!

Owning a bar means working all through Xmas, although Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be days off. New years we have a big street party with the bar opposite, off for New Year’s Day. That’s my time to celebrate big 12 hour party with a pretty awesome lineup paco osuna doing a sunset set. Proper break at the end of January, Gran Canaria for adventure week.

C'mon ya filthy animals! Someone must have club-related Xmas plans that will see them masticating on Aunite Maureen's turkey thigh, with a mouth dryer than Hasselhoff's flip-flop? I remember Xmas Day at Ma and Pa Buckley's after Xmas Eve at Camden Palace:oops:

We've got Camelphat, Mind Against. Âme b2b with Jimi Jules and Patrice Bäumel in Madrid Saturday night. Not quite Christmas but as close as we'll get.

Last Thursday me and my housemates went to a stand-up comedy night on Brighton seafront. The three acts were okay but pretty forgettable, but the compere was probably the best I've seen. Should have given him the floor. Still great value for £10 a pop. Finished around 23:00 and this is where the night descended. Decided we were hungry and found somewhere open for chips at the bottom of St James' Street.

Apart from the sold out Fatboy Slim NHS gig, there didn't appear to be much life in Kemptown, so we settled on karaoke in the city centre.

One of the guys working there is a friend of a friend and we were anticipating a discount, but what we actually got was free entry, first round of drinks and several rounds of shots on the house and sang our hearts until 02:00 when we were booted out. Trip to the off-licence on the way home, because we weren't ready to call it quits.

Next 14-hours aren't without their black spots, but it was a combo of D&Ms, terrible mixing and periodic complaints from downstairs. I called it about 17:00 as the 2CB was being pulled out. A wise decision by all accounts. Woke up at 22:00 feeling surprisingly okay but ravenous and ordered a Deliveroo. Still music coming from the scene of the crime, but otherwise no signs of life. Top night on the razz. Apart from the comedy night, completely unplanned. The spontaneous ones are always the best.

Prior to a very well earned 10 days rest over Christmas, just 2 nights out planned ...

Friday - drinks after work with a bunch of friends (nothing crazy as I have a extremely brutal CrossFit xmas special class early Saturday) ... god help my soul

Saturday - attend a gig one of my DJ pals is playing @ Hagglers Corner in Sheffield, hopefully followed by a late one with Mr C and David H @ Sidney & Matilda down t'road (tickets are free which is odd as it'll be heaving)

I have my 45th Birthday Sunday and I’m working so Saturday me and the Mrs are going to London for the Day. I’ve always loved the Underground so we are doing a Tour of Aldwych Station. The Prodigy Filmed Firestarter down there and I can’t wait then it’ll be Chinatown and Soho and catch the Arsenal game on Telly

Working my Birthday the 21st and 22nd then 6 days off. Bath with my Best mate and her Kids Xmas eve and an early service at Bath Abbey. Makes you feel Christmassy and my Mrs loves it, then see my brother in the evening back in Swindon

Xmas day at my Mums for dinner then the in-laws in the evening. Boxing Day our eldest is reffing a game in Bradford upon Avon so we are going to that. Then into the weekend to not do a lot. Food, drinks and Darts 🎯

Quiet NYE I reckon

Happy Birthday good sir!

Working today, Mon and Tue.

Xmas Eve off - Mum, Step Dad, Sister and her fella arrive circa 5pm. Sister in law and Brother in law about as well. Probably try and grab some food somewhere before getting back to base to try and get the kids down.

Xmas Day we do the swim on Brighton beach and then have people back to ours for a power 2 hours of fizz and snacks. Dinner out this year as we had too many to cook for really. Back to ours for games, more booze and cheese etc.

Boxing day just chill. Working between xmas and New Year but will all be from home and hopefully limited hours each day.

Merry Christmas one and all!

I just got home and did 12 gigs today.🎅 The beers are cold, the sauna is almost ready and the kids are unconscious after all the treats. In Finland, December 24th is when Santa Claus arrives and bring presents.

Tomorrow morning, ice swimming, dinner with the family and disco in the evening. Nice and easy!
