simple mechanical problem with my printer - the paper won't feed through properly on one side.

is something like this easily fixable? it's a photo printer/scanner thing that works perfectly otherwise.

Probably has a wee bit of paper stuck in it or the rollers are too smooth. If you can't fix it don't pay someone as you can pick up a new one for about £40, £60 with fax.

Whats the make/model

get a can of compressed air. or blow very hard inside.

if its still fooked i recommend the EPSON SX200 which will be in the shops soon.

It's Dell A920 or something.

Don't think it's paper, it seems to be that whatever feeds the paper in is bust on one side.

don't mind buying a new one if it can't be fixed cheap, but shame to lose a fully working item cos of a mechanical fault

these scanner printer copiers are so cheap these days. (around £50 or so depending on spec).

sounds like a sensor has gone... prob cheaper to buy a new one that get it repaired.
