Well, this section has very recently been joined to the mix/download/whatever bit,maybe that's why it looks worse to you ?
Reading james' sticky I realise I have broken the original worded ruling by sometimes mentioning non dance music,but that was five years ago...

what is dance music anyway ? no genres please !!

I mean FFS!

..and it's always posted by a promoter who contributes nothing else to the forum, & merely uses it for free publicity.

spot on

however, I've been on forums where people are much more sly with their promos, eg bigging up a 'mate's' release in a general chat area and that kind of pr is much insidious than the hit & run spammers who at least make no pretence to be anyone else. Just a pity 99% of the music, mixes and nights they push on the forum are total pigswill

@ Don Simon - I wdn't attach too much importance to the term "dance music" I think the fact spotlight's intrepid team of reporters have covered dizzee rascal, jazz festivals and the beatles this summer suggests an 'anything goes' policy in this section
