Can anyone tell me if the Rosamar in San An Bay is a Freestyle Hotel, as I have read a review on another website that it was last year and it is again this year, and we are a little worried as we taking our daughters who are just turned 16 when we go in October this year.

Cheers

what is a freestyle hotel

Freestyle is Thomsons answer to 18-30's etc but not quite as daft (i think). Its a programme of trips and offers geared towards those looking for a lively and getting pissed time.

I have stayed in accommodation where freestyle has been on but I have never found it any bother and if you are not interested in any of the trips etc they do not hassle you.

I too have stayed at the rosamar and would be surprised if they put Freestyle on there.

Its a nice place to stay - probably the best apartments I have been to anyway.

freestyle roasamar

I too have read the review you are talking about they said it was freestyle last year and the rep told them it was freestyle this year too.My husband and I and our two kids are going next sat (10th june). My husband has called the travel agents to ask about this and they assured us that it was not freestyle!(Although i am now a bit aprehensive as the next day thomsons called us to say that they needed our original tickets back as there were an amendment on them?? hope there is no small print in the tickets saying that it is freestyle i think that i will have to look over the new tickets with a fine tooth comb as im not sure that i trust them.why would the rep tell that family it was a freestyle if it wasnt.I will post when i get back to let you know as im rather worried myself as my two kids are 4 and 9 and dont want them to be seeing anything that they shouldnt.

hmmm

I am going to the Rosamar Aparthotel on the 21st of June....to be honest, I am not bothered (I dont think) if it is a freestyle hotel or not.....but would be interested to read the review you are talking about ..... what site is it on???

freestyle

i will say again the freestyle programme runs around the 20th june to 20th sep only outside these times, all hotels are family orientated..even if a freestyle programme is in force in a hotel..it normally means all the clients are taken out on excursions..so the remaining clients wouldnt be effected xx

we've been to the Rosamar every year for 4 years, staying in June/Aug & Sept. We're all in our mid to late 20's and we were probably the youngest people there, apart from the children with their parents.
It is a fantastic hotel with friendly staff and certainly more family orientated.
You might find a few clubbers staying there (as groups like ours have), but there has never been any of the nonsense of a Club 18-30.

Well im just back from the rosamar last week and there is freestyle operating in this hotel although the hotel was still rather quiet the rep was telling people that he wasnt happy that there wasas many families there as he said he was told that it was all freestyle that was being put in these apartments but to be honest i dont think you will hava any bother. The apartments were fantastic the nicest that we have stayed in ibiza so far ,the pool was spotless, the maids seemed to be always cleaning the apartments, the air con was a god send although hubby kept moaning to be to turn it off!! The bar staff were really friendly" hi juan, juan, david and pepe!"We though that the drinks in the Rosamar was a little expensive 5 euro for vod and coke! On the whole we also found the bay a little more expensive than last year but still had a great time. The hotels entertainer "JERRY SPRINGER!!" leaves a LITTLE bit more training we had more fun laughing at all his cock ups but hey god loves a tryer! All in all we had a fantastic holiday met some great people "THE MOOSE MEN!" I can honestly say you wont be dissapointed,

october

the freestyle programme does not run in october though...... it finishes when the clubs close in mid september ish.... xxxxx

We've been into the travel agents where we booked our holiday and guess what, they knew nothing of the Rosamar being a Freestyle hotel its not even in the broucher and never has, no wonder the rep is abit miffed at all the families reckon he should ask to move if he don't like em.

I would like to point out what sue has said over and over. the freestyle ends mid September ish, so you will not be affected.

I stayed there last august for a week (peak season!!) so you would expect it to be full of young clubbers but nooooo. I would say 90% were families, and yes freestyle was running in the hotel then but that consisted of the board advertising offsite events. I don't actually think a freestyle rep visits hotel it was the normal rep that was just taking the bookings. not sure if you have seen the pics of the hotel but it is split into 2 sections the section we were in had the Thomson family board up and seemed to have all the families together and the other section was where the freestyle board was.
now in the last 7 yrs I have been going to the island and this is by far the nicest hotel I have stayed in. I have recommended family and friends to stay there and they have all loved it. this is a 4 star hotel and usually I don't agree with them but I defiantly would with the Rosamar! My advise to you is stop worrying about it and have a bloody good holiday!

vikkims

We are not worrying about the Rosamar we are looking forward to going, but when you get a rep saying that he wishes that there wasn't as many families there its a bit off putting, but to be honest who really cares what the reps say because all they are there for is to sell you excursions. We have seen pictures of the Rosamar and it looks fantastic we cant wait to go.

Fab!!

Myself and my fiance arrived back from our 2 week stay at the Rosamar on Thursday.....to say I was impressed with the place is an understatement!!! All the staff are SO friendly and the service is very good.

There were quite a few groups of young people at the Rosamar, but I honestly cant say they made any more noise than the millions of screaming children!!! Infact the noisiest thing I found about the place was the air hockey table as our apartment was directly above the games room....!!

you will have a fab time when you go.......and if you like bingo, you will be in your element!
