Me and my gf are going away end of may we're both 20 dont want anything too mad though is this the place for us? any replies will be great

Yes, it is. Its a pretty subjective question really. Even the west end wont be too lairy in May, just workers mostly, out and about getting to know each other. Can you drive? If so, Id recommend getting a car. Cheap as chips in May and you'll be able to do some great daytrips.

it'll be fine. just perfect for what you want.

don't get hung up on locations, if anything it is more the type of hotel that should concern you rather than location.;)

the Bay is ideal for couples

not too far away from the action if you want
but quieter if you need that too

have to agree the Bay is best for you by the sounds of it and as said above the water taxi means you are only 5 mins from the centre of San An

is there a water taxi anywhere near ses savines and does anyone have any feedback on the hotel itself

cheers

does that ap

Ses Savines is excellent. Quiet, well run and very pleasant staff. Stayed in the apartments last year and we're going back there this year. The hotel is next door to the apartments, people staying in the apartments can use the hotel facilities which are good. Can't comment on the hotel rooms, but if the apartments are anything to go by they should be excellent.

As for the water taxi, I think there's supposed to be a pick up point outside the Hawaii but last year I didn't see too may water taxis picking up/dropping off there. It's an easy 5-10 min walk into San An from there anyway.

Agreed the bay is perfect for what you want, very quit in may head to the westend at night for a bit of atmosphere.

cool,

we are actually staying in apartment , my post was a bit misleading with the hotel bit , is there any chance of a view of the bay from an apartment mate

There a section on spotlight about Ses Savines here:
http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/savines/

They have a web site with pics here:
http://www.savinesarenal.com/apto_savines/index.html

...and for some bizarre reason they have another older web site but with more pics here:
http://www.hotelsessavines-ibiza.com/index_2.htm

The last one also has a 360 degree view of one of the bay-facing posh apartments with (count 'em) THREE balconies! This is the actual room we stayed in last year and are going back to this year :D :D

Can't wait!

That should be enough but if you need more let me know - I'll have pics somewhere.

ses savines

I stayed at the ses savines last year (booked through spotlight :D) It was awesome the beach is right on the door step and the promenade is really nice. Its a really nice 5-10minute walk along to the harbour and the westend. Im going back this year but sadly im staying at club paraiso :( . The hotel is really nice. basic but clean and pleasant. the staff are great. Youll meet Miguel the barman and some mad guy from guatemala who works on reception (looks like lurch) all in all id be going straight back to ses savines had i not been going away with my tight-fisted sister and her fiance! the hotel pools nice and the food and drinks are all reasonably priced.

Youll have a great time at savines :D

Ses Savines

I've been going back to Ses Savines for at least the past 15 years (I've started to lose count). It's a really nice hotel, basic but very clean with great staff. The only thing other people have said was they weren't impressed with was the food. But I've always thought it was fine, you get the odd wierd dish on the menu :) but there's usually more 'english' dishes as well.

The hotel is quite a family place, you do get groups of young people but whenever I've been there it's mostly families.

I like going back to this hotel as I know what I'll be getting. I tried to get a room in the apartments this year but it was fully booked for the dates I wanted and that was back in January. I'll have to try again next year.

Stacey,

when were you trying to book an apartment and why ?, are they better than the hotel ? do the apartments have views of the bay ?
Im not to bothered about the food anyway there will be plenty of good restaurants to go to im sure
im pleased i seem to have found a decent place to stay :) :)

I tried to book 2 weeks in the apartments for July. Like I said we usually stay in the hotel and we pay for half board but it seems a bit of a waste when we mostly don't manage to make it to breakfast in time. Plus all the apartments have air con - some rooms in the hotel do but not all. And the usual benefits like having a fridge and cooker!

With the views I think it's the same as the hotel, where there are some rooms with great views and also some without. I've paid the extra to ensure I get a sea view this year - it's definatly worth it.
