I have just found out about my mates marriage ending on Facebook!!! They have both changed their profile to "not in a relationship" jeez......:eek:

Ah... the wonders of social networking sites. I found out about about some friends breaking up the same way not too long ago (they'd been together for years but not married). Figured out another acquaintence had gotten divorced as well.

On the one hand, you could look at it as saving you from awkward situations the next time you see them:
"So, how's __insert spouse's name____ doing? Did he finally start taking viagra like you wanted?"

yeah - I guess that would kind of make sense - it just seems a bit "casual" I mean the break up of a marriage is a big thing (in my books anyway) and they have only been married 3 years so it all seems a bit strange to do it that way.... like its just "disposing of any old thing....."

Must just be me being old fashioned I suppose.... :?:?:oops:

Well, I'm sure they didn't notify each other over Facebook
(at least, I hope not!)

you may mock - but it looks like that...

he posted first - my marriage has ended, then 10 mins later she posted saying something similar...

its a bit like "I've dumped you" then "no you havent, I dumped you first..."

I wonder if there is an FB Solicitor who can deliver their decree nisi and then absolute.....:lol:

you can ordain people online now, so i dont see why not.

just search for Lionel Lutz

Also when or if you do change your status you then have everyone asking you about it

IE

I am now in a relationship - since when, who with, why didnt we know

etc etc etc

My friend keeps changing hers for security reasons (apparantly) I nearly text her the other day asking if she was ok then told myself it was probably some silly Facebook thing

birds only announce that their relationship is over on facebook etc. so that her ex-boyfriend's mates know so they can batter in about her next time they see her out. fact.
