Is House the new r'n'b?

When I went to my local Bar Risa last weekend, it was full of the usual "pretty" girls and boys, but instead of the r'n'b it played last time, this time it was mainly house, and a lot of it was good quality house, and the townies were dancing to it...
So is house the new r'n'b?

in some respects i hope so because it would mean a lot more work for me and i could enjoy going to the local cheesy clubs! On the other hand, commercialising a genre usually kills it off to a certain extent.

i think house is definatley seeing more commercialism, juts look at the "clubbers guide to 2004" i know this is a commercial album but it has always featured trance and had the adverts showed ravers and stuff but this year the album is full of house and the adverts look like something from hed kandi and i think that glammed up house fashion is all over the highs street shops, i dont think that club culture has been this mainstream for years.

i think that house 2004 will be "the year of house" in the same way they tried to a thing of electro last year, and i think it can only be a good thing if it gets more ppl into clubs.
