Is El Divino or Es Paradis Worth Going To?

Have been to Ibiza the last two years and been to Space, Amnesia, DC10, Pacha, Privilege and Eden. Am going back next year and wandered if it was worth going to El Divino or Es Paradis, and if so, what are their popular nights?

interesting q, re el divino.

similarly those two are the ones I have not gone to (and Underground).

Es Paradis, I would hazard a guess at no. A chavs disneyland by all accounts.

El divino, if the glam side of it (i.e you want to dance next to Russian gangsters/arab princes/supermodels to vocal house) appeals to you, then go go. Thats prob unfair & very stereotyped but i go by what I have heard.

Its often very cheap to get tickets tho, so i reckon i will be checkin it out, even briefly next year.

I went to Milk 'n' 2 Sugars closing party at El Divino. Had a great night. Nice club, good mixed crowd, music was good. I'll definatly go to El Divino again.

Never been to Es Paradis, don't think I'll bother either. I've heard and read more bad things about it than good.

es paradis is an important part of ibiza´s nightlife history.
it´s one of the oldest "superclubs" - open since the 70s.
the architecture inside is still amazing (not my personal tast,
but worth a look).
it´s a must that at least one night you have to go there
for their worldfamous waterparty .

the only interesting thing about el divino ist their open-air-terrace
with stunning view to ibiza.

And you are not steroetyping Es Paradis?

Leave it alone for feck's sake so what if "Chavs" go? Are chavs bad people or something? I think you will find some of the are more friendlier than some of the so called "beautiful people" you get on the island.
I think it is a beautiful club and I hold happy memories of there in 98.

Also you should never have an opinion based on what you have heard - should you not have to try something first to form an opinion? :)

the best bit about el divino is the terrace, which you can't get onto unless you've paid VIP. (or at least that was the case when we were there)

Es Paradis is the only place on the island where you will hear Andy Whitby, Alex Kidd etc..

Apart from that it is still one of the nicest clubs on the island. I would rather goto Es Paradis than Pacha.

IMO Es Paradise is not worth going to, unless you like trance/commercial dance.

IMO El Divino is worth going to, especially if you like funky/vocal house.

El Divino's terrace has been open to the masses everytime (4?) i've been there.

Bloody hell, somebodies tired.

I've heard that flogging myself with a hot poker and sticking pins in my eyes is not the best. Not tried it myself but y'know, I formed an opinion based upon hearsay. Dare I propose that it's likely to be correct.

I have heard that there was a war & a man called Hitler was rather nasty. Was not there myself, but you know...thats an opinion I formed.

Would you like me to go on?

Yes, I am stereotyping Es Paradise based upon what I have heard. Merely confering the the information I have to hand with all the required caveats.

I think chavs are by and large more likely to start a fight than non chavs. I'm from birkenhead, so trust me thats one big fat wedge of primary evidence.

Back in your cage love.

smokinbabe found your next target for you.

I'll stand by my judgement. It had no nights that I was interested in going to this year. Plus it's in San Antonio, there were more chavs in San Antonio than I see on the streets of Glasgow and that's a lot.

Also, this year was my first time in Ibiza and I had 6 nights out so picked nights that I thought had more chance of being good and playing music that I like. 99 % of the negative comments I've read about Es Paradis came from this forum , and that's why I joined this forum, to find out as much as I could about the place before I went.

Edit to add. What I'm saying is that I went to Space and Bora Bora because I'd heard a lot of good things about them. I didn't go to Es Paradis because I hadn't heard very many good things about it. We all do things after hearing about it. Why did you first go to Ibiza? I'd hazard a guess that it was because you had heard it was good.

Thats why it (Es Paradis) has the islands only Hard House (Tidy on Tuesdays) and R&B (Thursdays).

If you like funky/vocal house and actually want to be able to move then I would suggest Garlands @ Eden on a Wednesday.

Both are clubs dissed in these forums on a regular basis.

By the way Chav's don't genearlly have jobs so would struggle to get to anywhere in Ibiza. If you mean young people having a good time then what the hells wrong with that. At least they won't be Uber Snobs

Not convinced by the 'chavs' dont generally have jobs line! Altho, the general sentiment of work shy scum bags I am in tune with.

No, I do not mean young people having a good time. Christ that was me once (i'm only 29) - there are plenty of kids who do not want to fight, spit, wear tartan check, drink the blood of the new born etc - and it is a FACT that all chavs do all of these things all of the time, no matter what the liberal elite tell me!

If by implication this makes me an uber snob..well incorrect, I just do not like people like that....but I will have to wear the badge.

I was lucky enough to play KissdaFunk at El Divino this summer and I liked the place. It was a nice change from some of the cavernous clubs I've been going to for the last 8 years. It's worth a visit, though I'm not sure the nights on there would make me a regular visitor, simply from my tastes.

Not been to Es Paradis since 2000, when I did Clockwork Orange, which was ace. But then I had long hair and liked trance back then ;)
