Is a permit required to get a car in?

Very simple question. Driving down early June. Is a permit required to bring a car onto the island for 3 months? If so I need to get on the case. Advice appreciated. :)
 
nope, but it is wise to have all the papers to prove the car is yours and insured etc at the port, and your original driving license ( a copy will get you a fine :-) probably won`t get stopped, but if you do, Hand the very nice man in green a wad of papers, ( some people bring a few copies of everything ) which usually get`s given back, with a cheer`y wave toward the boat,

PS Iscomar is usually cheaper than Balearea, Dog of a boat though:evil:
 
cheers mate, finally, would it be advisable to book in advance for Iscomar or can you turn up there and jump on with a car? (5th June)
 
iscomar will have a different boat on that route come may. it's bigger and more modern than the old one which will be used only for cargo on the route. a few weeks ago the old one, the carmen del mar collided with a balearia ferry in the harbour, and it's sister ship sank last week off the moroccan coast.
 
When I said it was a dog, I was not joking :-) things like lifeboat cables that should have been changed years ago, out of date life rafts that you would need tools to get launched, and try standing still on the stern, something is very bent or out of balance :-) but it is cheep !
