Cousin of the stabbed guy:

This guy is my cousin and has never been in a fight in his life. He has told me that the two guys beating the lad on the ground were English (no change there) and were not stopping until they had beaten him to death

I heard about something similar today in work from a guy who got back yesterday - someone else was stabbed while he was there and he saw the aftermath. Needless to say he said it's his first and last time he will be visiting the island

Was this in San Antonio?
Its a horrible thing to happen especially on holidays. Every time I go I hear of bottles being smashed in/on guys heads and yet I've never had any trouble.
I would guess its just starting to get more coverage now then it used to, much like when a kid dies in a club from drugs it gets a 6 line piece on page 30 of the newspaper. It probably doesn't mean ibiza is less safe then it has been for the last few years.
