When I called NTL the other day to tell them we are going over to BT, the sales guy offered us free dial up and a free 2nd line until they can provide Broadband next year. You should call up and say you want similer offer.

you should be able to port your number pretty easily if you want to change, but NTL might be slow and arsey about it. Call of Ofcom if they are...

Coming Soon - more speed at no extra cost

Soon we will be increasing your download speed to up to 4Mb. That's nearly 4x faster than your current speed (1Mb), at no extra cost.

Your service will remain completely unlimited, so you don't have to worry about how much you use the Internet or the amount you download.

The new speeds will be rolled out region by region from the end of September until early 2006.

You will not need to do anything, the changes will happen automatically, and we will contact you to let you know when you can start to benefit from your new speed.

aye. they always upgrade everyone for free :) and no limits :D

boss for music and porn

(which is what the internet is all about really) :lol:

I've been with Freedom2Surf for 3 years with not a single fault or complaint. Excellent service and I upgraded to 2Mb earlier this year for £20 per month with no download limits, and I live in them thar hills in the North-East with a steam powered computer! 8O They are also rolling out faster 8Mb & 24Mb services in certain areas. 8)

Check 'em out;

I'm in the US and I notice that in Europe the broadband speeds are lightning fast compared to ours. I pay about $40 USD monthly after tax for Earthlink High Speed - it's extremely reliable but I can't get above 1.5 MB in my area. They said they upped the speed to 3MB and would upgrade me, but I'm too far from the central point so I'm stuck. In Europe 4MB/s seems to be the standard!

Good luck cancelling AOL - they never want to let you quit. You may get a few months free to entice you to stay but be strong!

I might try Verizon WiFi - I souped up my old laptop and got a WiFi card that worked great when I tried the Lufthansa WiFi on the plane to Frankfurt. I got drunk on the flight and then emailed all my friends from 30,000 feet in the air, and checked Ibiza-Spotlight as well!
