Hi,

I'm new to house music and I've booked pukka up boat party tickets with entrance to Insane @ Pacha after. I was wondering what music to expect @ Pacha and do the following DJS play the same style.

John Digweed
H.O.S.H.
Uner
Adrian Wee

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks!!

The best thing you can do is listen to those DJ's online and know exactly what to expect.
You can do it either on their websites/FB pages, youtube channels, souncloud etc. or you can check 1001tracklists.com there you can find almost any DJ you want and listen to his recent set.

Thanks Kimajy,

I really liked the sound of that H.O.S.H mix. what style is that ? and can you recommend any similar DJS please ?
Do the DJS tend to play there style of music or dose the club dictate ?

P.S I paid 40 euros for both pukka and Pacha but at the time the line up wasn't announced.

Thanks
Lee

don't worry, 40 euros for boat and insane is good.
and with this lineup you gonna have fun. people who like h.o.s.h. also like: the diynamic label artists (tuesdays at sankeys), especially solomun (also sundays at pacha).

If you are doing Pacha on friday, go to Space at sunday. We love is considered by many as their flagship and you will enjoy it.

I promise I'm not on the Pacha wage role (people will vouch for that), but went to my first Insane last night. Was slightly concerned about how this night would be with no Tong and the main Digweed residency not having really started.

However, Joris Voorn and Nic Fanciulli "B2B" absolutely smashed it. It felt like the Space Discoteca room at times. While I look forward to the Digweed nights I think Pacha could be one to something with Voorn/ Fanciulli and then a deeper Digweed closing. All in all we need more Voorn / Fanciulli at Pacha! Good up for it crowd (pretty British) with few "spectators".... Busy but not stupid busy.

My love in with Pacha continues....

Thanks for this post. Really encouraging to hear. Was made up when i found out Voorn was playing at Insane the weekend I'm there, but was slightly concerned with him in this venue, will the crowd be up for it? etc.. Pleased to hear you had a cracker.

I was there as well mate...first time in Pacha actually...and MY GOD what a set by Voorn and Fanciulli. It really was incredible. I love my slower more 'sexy' stuff (DIYnamic, Finnebassen etc)...but the sheer energy they created, I'd not heard before with this style - very impressed.

Highlight of the night was when Voorn absolutely smashed out one of my all time favourites 'You Don't Know Me'...expertly done...mixed in with the ultra modern stuff, this just caused me the biggest natural high as I'd never heard it in a club before.

FYI - I was deffo one of the "up for it" Brits :)

I went back for Solomun+HOSH on Sunday, which was also delightful :)

Voorn & Nic B2B is always a great spectacle. My mates all went to this night. Seething with jealously. And reading your review now I'm even more gutted :(

Yep, was brilliant! The AVH "You Don't Even Know Me" mix shouldn't have worked, but it set the place on fire! Man, its been a while since I've been in a club when that dropped!

Alongside WOTG (obviously very different) this night really has me hooked, and you get the sense that Pacha (quite rightly) are testing out a few things to see what works. Where as WOTG is an "event" and a show, insane is totally stripped black. The main room is dark, and feels a lot harder than other nights. Minimal decoration, and the red lighting makes it feel more intimate and dark.

Reading the tweets from Voorn and Fanciulli after the party, I think they were pretty happy to say the least!

Friday (legacy of Tong) has (in my view) always been the most British night at Pacha the past few years, and I think the link up with the Pukka Up Boat Party will ensure that the "Brit Up For It" crowd continue to rock the place hopefully. Friday just has a much more casual end of week feel in Pacha. The most amount of Shorts I've ever seen in the place too!

Just what I wanted to hear

First time I saw Joris was when he played with Nic Fanciulli at Ministry about 3 or 4 years ago, one of the best nights of my life. Ever since then I've never been disapointed by either of them. They should definitely do more stuff together

I know! Somebody at Pacha please take note....

They could tear the place up from 2-4 and then things could get a bit more tech and deeper with Digweed. Perfect combination for me. But I like these kind of weird combos (like Eric Prydz followed by Adam Beyer haha)

Completely agree.. well aside from the eric prydz before Beyer.. Well last time i saw Nic was at Easter when he played before Sasha at Ministry. It did work well. They are collaborating a lot recently what with the Space Opening party.. I do wonder how their b2b set sounded like.

Glad to hear the good reports about Insane, I'm going 26th July. Just hope it doesn't get too rammed, went for the first time last year (morillo subliminal - awful - cheesy - and so packed in you couldn't even move), so I'm hoping for a good night :(
