Girls... please tell me if I'm in the wrong here!

I've arranged a girly night out in London this Friday. I work in London anyway, so I'll be going to the bar straight after work along with some other girls who work here. Two of my oldest friends from Watford were due to come aswell, now one possibly will not be able to come, so I presumed the other friend would get the train up into London on her own - Errrr No?! For some unknown reason she doesn't want to get the train on her own :? Now am I wrong in thinking that there is something strange about a grown woman being incapable of doing a 20min train journey on her own, it would be in broad daylight and I'd meet her at the other end

Some girls really annoy me! I've been coming into London on my own for the past four years, I love being independent and able to do my own thing, when I want. I'd hate to have to travel everywhere (including to the loo!!) in pairs! :x

   I know what you mean..... I know lots of girlie girls (as I call them) who wont even consider a night out or meeting up with others if they are by themselves.....

wont get a taxi alone
wont wait in a bar alone
wont go to the toilet alone
wont go to a club alone (even if its to meet up with others inside)

Honestly, I think they would faint into a girly heap if I suggested any of the above......

:? :? :?

I know girls just like that. Same girsl couldnt believe I lived on my own when I moved to France. Doing things like that doesn't bother me at all.

That's really pathetic  You do get silly girlie girls that can't function on their own tho  I find it quite liberating to sit in bar on my own or go into club on my own.

The only thing I wouldn't really do is get a taxi home alone at the end of the night, times like that I think you've got to be more careful and there is safety in numbers.

 i dont like to wait in bars on my own but i dont mind meeting up with other people in clubs if i know they are in the first and i go to the toilet on my own and taxi's on my own.

Someone from London said that she liked me because i was a girlie girl, now im insulted

Do you think she is being like that due to recent events in London? If thats the case, then maybe she is genuinely scared of the transport system.
Maybe she could order a normal taxi to bring her direct to you.

"All my women, who Independent, throw your hands up with me"

No we'd be going back together!

I can understand her being a bit scared because of recents events, but she didnt say anything about it being that, and I doubt she'd come on her own even if the bombs hadn't happened!

Well I've been best friends with her for 12 years so if she's waited til now to decide that then  :!:

Damn these country bumpkins and their inability to commute!

It does seem a bit sad, maybe she has some other reason for not coming! For work I've had to go to London and Belfast on my own. I've travelled home from Italy on my own also. I think you need to force yourself to do these things even if it makes you nervous to build your confidence.

Completely agree. When I first moved down to FLT I was only a little pup-pess of 23, I didn't know anyone down here, drove down here a few months before I was moving, bought a flat, did all house stuff on my own from the other end of the country, sold and moved out of my old house, had to live in a hotel for a month in London cos my new flat wasn't ready and then moved into my new flat on my own.

I sometimes look back and think htf did I (dizzy old Babs  ) manage all that on my own but you just have to do these things don't you ;)

I don't think you should be so quick to judge people.

My girlfriend used to commute from Sheffield to London and vice versa on a regular basis for two years (in the daytime) and she got no end of stick from weirdo's.

One guy came and sat next to her who had a gun in his inside pocket (probably boarded in Nottingham  ) - he didn't exactly look like a plain clothes cop either.
