In The Dark - Hi Ibiza

Looks like I'll be going on the 15th of June when Luciano is playing.

Will be sad to step into that place after the space closing party last year but hey, intrigued to see how it looks.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but i guess there's no news on where the residents will be playing, in the theatre or club area ? or shall i just say discoteca or new terrace lol

I believe they will be rotating. one week you might catch them in the theathre, another week in the club. I might be wrong though and I do think they'll announce this before it all kicks off.

I thought the line ups looked as though each week the residents would be split across the rooms? Because on most nights there are 4 residents and 2 'guests' so thought 2 res and 1 guest per room?

Or was the original question asking for the room split off each resident individually? ?

think it's probably best to discuss this here, even though we had started this subject elsewhere.

of the 5 ITD residents, 4 of them also play ants. the full season line ups for that are out now https://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/night/promoters/ants

but as far as I've seen, it's always just one of them playing per ants date. and in a few weeks they've even made it so that the one who's playing ants is the one that isn't playing in the dark. with that, they've cleverly made ITD not being a copy of ANTS.

that said, ants line ups aren't blowing me away. I like the fact that there's a few extended sets and guests like timo maas and dinky, but else they've played it very safe haven't they.

yeah, looking mostly predictable. after my visit to Zoo last year on a Saturday I would hazard that it is by far the better party with a more forward thinking musical booking policy. will defo be my choice again this year, in any case

So Eats Everything plays for Ants all through Winter in Europe, but not back in Ibiza this year. Obviously has other commitments but all a bit odd. I do like Ants but the 2 dates we are looking at going in September are a bit weak in my opinion which is a shame, as I do enjoy getting in there about 5-6pm and hanging out down the pool bit then moving to the main stage.

well he's booked for some friday nights (labyrinth) and quite a few saturday nights (elrow) so go figure...plus I still expect him to pop up on paradise line ups too.

Yeah hoping he pops up for Paradise- him and Richy Ahmed were the stars of my Paradise date last year, otherwise my only choice is Cox July 11 but I'm opting for Prydz that night

The day has arrived.. its strange being here in ibiza and not seeing all the space posters. Looking forward to tonight, will try to not compare as hard as it might be!

There was still quite a few space posters around at the end of May haha

Ok so just got back from ibiza, and here are my thoughts on the night.

Overall view is a good one. I came out thinking I had a good night and while it was never going to compare with my best night ever which was Space closing, I came out with positive views rather than negative.

First with the bad:
Theatre Room: The sound was just not right. I have to caveat that I only stayed for Luciano's set (which was actually brilliant) but there was no power to the sound. It almost felt like there were temporary speakers you might get at boat party or something. The bass would come in after the breakdown and you just didnt get that feeling of being "swallowed" up by music like you got at Discoteca and other ibiza dancefloors. I actually noticed i was talking to people next to me and could hear them fairly easily. The volume might have been cranked up after but the time I was there it was too low.
Also i think this has been mentioned before, it's far too bright in there which consequently I think meant lots of people just stood around. The atmosphere was pretty flat, not helped by the VIP sections of people also just standing there watching. You could definitely feel the extra VIP presence nearer the front of the room compared to Discoteca. Maybe if it's darker you will miss it, but with it so bright it's hard to ignore.

The positive:
Pretty much everything else.
Bar, entry and toilet queues were non existent (maybe due to the amount of people being in there too)
Toilet room with music was a great idea, a bit odd at first but it was fine after the initial shock

Club room was great. Vibe was amazing, people really going for it and it didn't really change much from the vibe from the space new terrace room (also helped due to Lawlers and Voorns sets I'm sure). Lights were much darker than theatre and sound was INMENSE, in my view as good as Discoteca and better than the new terrace was. I didn't really notice the VIP sections, but i did get a feeling the dancefloor was a little smaller than terrace was. so maybe on a busier night this will be an issue.

Great garden area outside, it was a nice area to chill and chat, which i actually preferred to the old premier etage and sunset terrace because in those rooms I sort of felt I was still in the club, but here it's definitely separate area.

Also we manged to bag tickets for 25 Euros (before 2am entry) from a bar which I was very pleased about.

going back in september for a week, and if they manage to sort out the theatre issues, then I don't think they would've done a bad job overall.

Any updates on how the season has gone so far for In the Dark?
I'm out early September this year and have to decide between ItD and Labyrinth. Thanks.

I still saw a Space billboard in San An, right near the centre BK area i think!

Have set times been getting announced prior to the night? If so, where? Ta

no. never. they don´t announce them officially. some of the DJs might announce their slot on social media maybe, but that´s it. once you´re in they do have the times up though as far as I know.
