What has happened? Has it been closed all year?

My favourite restaurant on the island but was told it hasnt been opened due to lack of cash? Will it be opening again?

Ahha yes......Il Vatacino spent many a happy evening in there:) My OH's favorite restaurant also.

Ever since Juan, their good chef left about 3 years ago, along with the 2 girls who managed the place, Sasha and Rothia (went to sa capellla) the place sadly, started on the slippery slope downhill. Good staff are the backbone of any decent restaurant in Ibiza and Il Vaticano never regained the level of service that they once had.

Word gets around fast in Ibiza and they were basically serving a pizza and pasta budget menu to passing tourists, as buisness was so slow last year. The building is owned by the family that run it so I doubt its cash issues, more not worth the time and effort to keep it open for the return they were getting.

I was at the opening party back in April. Didnt eat too much food so cant describe it from a gastronomical viewpoint.....
