This rings a bell, think it could be a tune that was about last year...not sure if it was on Desolat but Loco Dice/Sneak would have played it. I've got it somewhere, will have a dig when i get home...another possibility is Mike Dunn - Phreaky MF but from the way you describe it I would have thought it was more likely to be the first one I thought of...

A quick Shazam check comes up as Sidney Charles - Jack on the rocks.... but that isnt the same version.

So could be a special edit or a acapella over the top... not sure.
