Just got back from a jazz concert by the Tomas Einarsson Quintet. Initially went as a favor to a friend, who's head of the Russia-Iceland Friendship Society (or something like that). So glad I went!
Brought a smile to my face when I realized I was watching a group of Icelanders playing Latin jazz in a Cuban bar in Moscow, Russia. A couple of Brazilians who happened to be there joined in with the bongos and shakers on a couple of tunes as well. All these strange juxtapositions... what a wonderous world we live in, eh?
Really great tunes too... sometimes I forget there's uplifting music out there aside from rock and dance. Must get out to more of these types of things.
Got myself a CD and had it autographed. Highly recommend it if you're in the mood for something different.
