every two years the recinto ferial is the venue for a marvellous fund raising event which is for a really good cause. it's great fun and full of entertainment all day and into the evening with stalls, games, bric-a-brac, lots of food and drink and many, many, island entertainers performing for free. i always go.

We are writing to you on behalf of the "Asociación IBIZA Y FORMENTERA CONTRA EL CANCER", the official body in the Pitiusas for the fight against Cancer.
In recent years our local committee, made up of Ibicencos and foreign residents of the islands, has organised fairs, fiestas & various events to raise substantial amounts for the cancer cause in Ibiza & Formentera.
This year our Christmas Fair will again be held in the Centro Ferial de Congresos in Ibiza Town on Sunday 10th December. Visitors will be able to enjoy a full programme of market stalls, games, competitions, a fun dog show, entertainment spots, plus our usual grand auction and raffle with a host of valuable prizes. Again this year our emphasis will be on Christmas, with Father Xmas and other helpers providing plenty of entertainment for the islands’ children. All our workers are volunteers who work totally gratis for the association.
We would like to thank you again for your previous generosity and request your support in this forthcoming event, with a donation or prizes for the raffle, auction, competitions etc,or goods for our food and drink stalls.
Since our last Fair, the association has donated the following amounts to the cancer cause in Ibiza & Formentera.

Towards a new ambulance for the Red Cross 3,000
Support to Can Misses staff in paliative & oncology courses 6,114
New treatment chairs for the Chemotherapy dept of Can Misses: 9,877

Translation and producion of Back-up information booklets 982
Anti-tobacco poster competition in Ibiza schools 4,008
Sponsorship "Comica" theatrical performances at island schools
alerting children to dangers of smoking & skin cancer, and
benefits of a good diet. 13,935
Contributions to local anti-tobacco campaigns 4,750
