Hey everyone, new to the site/forums.

My wife and I are heading to Ibiza in early June from the States and this will be our first time. I am somewhat familiar w/ the clubs from being into the music scene for some time...but there is so much I dont know im sure. Would appreciate ANY input on any of the below...

Prelim Plans (only will be in for 2 nights 3 days) June 7th & 8th:
- Hed Kandi Opening Party at El Paradis June 7th
- We Love Space Opening on June 8th
- Cafe Mambo at some point, been wanting to go there forever

That being said.....

- Where is the best area to stay? There seem to be so many parts of town, no clue what is near what?

- Suggestions for hotels? Looking for something nice, but somewhat reasonable priced. Considering doing 2 different hotels, thoughts?

- Any modifications to the above plans that a first timer has to hit?

- Random tips for first timers are welcome as well (I did read the tips/tricks on here too)

Thanks in advance!

My advice is to stay in playa den bossa! San Antonio (where cafe mambo and the rest of the sunset strip bars are) is great for the sunset, but a little tacky and young at night, just was not my scene at all! Definitely take a trip in one or two evenings though to see the sunset , it is out of this world! San Antonio bay is nice too, more families and couples go there, and there is an amazing sunset bar called Kumharas that you should check out if you stay there! Playa den bossa is where space, ushuaia, sankeys, bora bora etc is! The beach is awesome, and you are where all the action is! Close to Ibiza town too!

Hotel/Apartment wise, it depends what you are looking for! Are you wanting a little peace and quiet? Or a party? Haha! The Sal Rossa is right on the beach in playa den bossa, reasonable price if you book it through Ibiza spotlight or booking.com! Really nice hotel! It is right next to bora bora, which is a beach bar that plays music all day, and by around 5pm everyone is up dancing about the beach and bar going crazy! My brother and his wife stayed in the Dausol 2 last year and loved it, we went in September and went to meet them in their hotel a few times....you could get a good sleep, but everything is on your door step just a short walk from the beach, space etc.

If your only staying for 3 days I wouldn't bother with 2 hotels, seems alot of hassle! It's easy enough to get about, buses are on constantly and taxis everywhere!

There is so much to do and see, however due to your short stay.....

my final tip....if you are there on a Monday......GO TO DC10!!! :)

Hope you both have an amazing time, I know you will! Don't panic if you can't do everything, I've never heard of anyone that's been to Ibiza and not returned, or don't have plans to!

Its a personal thing but I'd say avoid Es Paradis, there are so many better venues on the island to visit. Personally i dont think a trip to Ibiza is complete without an afternoon / evening spent at Bora Bora dancing on the beach.

On the basis of accomodation it really depends on how much you want to spend, personally i've found that the standard of accomodation, value for money has always been far better in San Antonio than in Playa D'en Bossa despite the formers reputation and i also think PDB is a bit run down looking. Personally I'd just check tripadvisor before booking and make a decision based on the reviews as opposed to the hotels actual star rating.

In terms of taxi fares you are looking at around 12e for a taxi to PDB from the airport, 35e for one from the airpoirt to San Antonio and 30e for a taxi from PDB to San Antonio and vice versa.

Sure you'll have a great time regardless of what area you stay in just make sure the hotel you choose is one where you will be able to sleep at some point during a 48 hour period.

Thanks for the advice! I think the main reason we are looking at El Paradis is 1. Like Hed Kandi and 2. It doesn't seem like many of the big nights go off on Saturday? Are there other good Saturday parties?

Is Bora Bora where Cafe Mambo is? We really love beach parties/day parties...where is the best place to go for something like that?

Appreciate any and all input.

There are beach and day parties on playa den bossa beach all day! The infamous bora bora.....Ibiza sands....sirrocco...jet apartments....Sal Rossa! Playa den bossa is definitely where you want to be!

All of the sunset strip bars are in San Antonio (mambo, cafe del mar etc), but if you like proper house music and not radio/cheesey/chart music you won't want to hang about the west end (the main strip in San Antonio).

The day parties I've been to along playa den bossa has all been house and tech house music! DC10 is all about house/tech house and techno! You will love it :)

DC10, Space, Sankeys and Ushuaia are all in playa den bossa

Es Paradis and Eden are in San Antonio

There are other clubs scattered about elsewhere :)

If it is up and running at that time, you could try zoo project on saturday afternoon/early evening near san an, before your 'main' club night. The music is more tech/house than Hed kandi but it's an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon round the pool/seal pit, also have bbq if you ned some food before a big session.

I didnt check your dates but DC10 and Enter are a must. I am from NYC and last year was my first time there.

I am a bit older and had a villa in Can Furnet. It had its pros and cons. I agree that playa den bossa can feel a bit run down but I think the vibe and people on the go is a pretty cool experience. If you party there are some big differences. Things are not done out in the open like they are in the states. People in the club are really reserve about helping a stranger out so come prepared. I was actually shocked or maybe Nyer's are just sloppy lol

I had an amazing time. The only thing I was disappointed in was I thought I would chat with a lot more people. I got a major attitude from people when they found out I was from the states. I heard it was becuase I went in August and you have a lot of rookies (young people on holiday) so hopefully my next experience will be better
