Ibiza Virgins: Are Cameras allowed in Ibiza's Clubs?

You missed the biggy surely? Zoo Project!

Says no cameras on the ticket and they are very thorough in searches. When I went the queue to "deposit" your camera was longer than the actual queue, and not cheap either as I remember

The article has been updated.

I can more or less respect the policies at Amnesia & Privilege, apparently the last 2 clubs standing with no camera policies.

But Zoo makes absolutely no sense to me. It's outdoors. It's daytime. People are dressed up in costumes. It cost 50 quid to get in, FFS. It's practically made for people take pictures. Jerks.

i was at the zoo closing in september 09 and dont remember being searched. think we arrived about 6pm and just walked on in. took loads of pictures and no one tried to stop me.

i am gonna be there in june and plan to bring my camera with me.

in amnesia i got my camera in but was told to put it away when i took a picture.

no problems when i was in space or privilege however there were people being told to leave their cameras in the shop. i guess i just got lucky at privilege

I had no problems with a camera in 2009 either (I was also at the closing too, btw).
I think the policy came into force in 2010.
My missus had a camera in her purse and was told to check it. Instead she went and put it back in the car. Thankfully, they let us back to the front of the queue.

We were able to use our camera's everywhere we went! Pacha didn't stop us at the Defected closing party, Space didn't stop us at their We Love closing party, Eden didn't at Tong's Wonderland.
All of this was September last year too.
Didn't go to Zoo, so couldn't comment on that but at Pacha twice, Space twice & Eden nothing was said.
At least it looks like most clubs aren't bothered about it. Just Amnesia, Privilege & Zoo! read this article before you go out Clubbing then you can leave or take your camera accordingly.
Or you could get a Nokia N8, it has a 12MP Carl Zeiss camera on it ;)

Not quite.....yet.
Almost every phone
(one obvious exception being enterprise versions for companies that don't allow cameras in the office)

That's why the no-camera policy generally doesn't make sense, unless you're going to take everyone's cell phone off of them.

But it's not only in Ibiza. There are a couple of major clubs here (in Moscow) that don't allow cameras either. In one, if they catch you taking a photo with your phone, a guard will pounce within seconds telling you to erase the photo. :?

There are still a number of low-end basic phones currently available,I think they are supposed to appeal to Luddites. I have one. (does have handy flashlight though)
