Just back form my first trip to Ibiza with 2 friends, and I completely fell in love! I've been dreaming of going to the Island since I got intro Trance when I was about 10 and I finally got to go last week, I'll just do a quick review of each night:
Sunday 28th: Pop Star/Espuma @ Amnesia: We arrived at our hotel (Jabeque, great location, OK hotel.) at around half 7 in the evening, and had planned on going to We Love at Space that night, but the hotel offered us tickets to Amnesia for 30 euros where as Space would have cost us 60, and Amnesia was probably the club I was most excited for, so we headed off at about half 1. We were all pretty drunk and I can't remember much of that night actually; I just remember having 2 shots of absynth at Amnesia
and dancing the night away for hours in the main room. We must of stayed in the main room for a good few hours before we ventured into the terrace where Marien Novi was playing, the vibe was a lot more commercial here (she dropped SHM - One just as we were getting on the dancefloor) but it sounded good and the atmosphere was amazing. We danced for probably another hour and then being up for about 22 hours and traveling from Birmingham to Ibiza caught up with us and we headed back to the hotel, I didn't check what the time was but I'm guessing it was about 5.
Monday 29th: Mondays Calling @ Space: We headed off to Bossa beach for the day and had planned on hitting Space tonight anyway, but were given free entry wristbands before midnight so that was a bonus! that night was probably the only hiccup though, at about 11pm we decided to walk from the hotel to Space, I didn't know exactly where it was but I had a rough idea of the Bossa area so we headed off and got to Space at about half 11, I was beyond excited to see the big Space sign and hear the music pumping from outside! There were only a few people lining up outside, but when we were about to go in, the bouncer stopped us and asked for I.D. The one time I didn't take it out and the one time I was actually asked in Ibiza! We only had half an hour to get back to the hotel, grab the ID and get back to Space before 12 to use the wristbands, so we jumped in a taxi back, and an illegal taxi back to Space (I was desperate! ). When we got back to Space it was quarter to and the line was huge, but we got into the club at 11:58pm 8). Amazing night! The club was packed, the music was pumping all night and I loved the decor and vibe of the whole club. We hadn't drank before leaving this time so we had 3 JD and Cokes... 42 Euros , ended up leaving about 5 again I think.
Tuesday 30th: Full on Ferry @ Sankeys: Once again we had planned for this night anyway but were given free entry wristbands so I was happy with that. 2 of us were extremely excited for tonight as we love Ferry, we got to Sankeys just after 1am and didn't leave the dancefloor 'till we left the club at half 5 ish. Ferry smashed it! Sankeys IS a small club, especially by ibiza standards, but the vibe was great, it felt like most people were really there for the music as almost everyone was raving with their eyes closed and hands in the air all night. Ferry played some classic trance tunes which was such a highlight for me, but I feel like Full on ferry could be even better at one of the superclubs, it's like the vibe was too big for such a small place.
Overall, it's hard to pick the best night, Space is probably my favorite club aesthetically, Amnesia's terrace is awesome, and Ferry's set at Sankey's was amazing. The mini-trip was over far too quickly and I'm already planning on 10 nights next summer.
