Ibiza Virgin with question on accomodation, car rental

I am going to Ibiza this august. would like to get something below $100 per night. Is advisable to find an apartment once arrived or it's better to do online?
And another one is. I love to drive around finding cool areas and places. How is the traffic conditions and roads. How much you need a car there? What is the the way to get from place to place?

try for a rental, thats who i tend to book with. If you look at the clubbing guide for august, you should be able to plan which nights you'll be likely to be out and therefore not require a car. hiring a car for the duration shouldnt be entirely necessary as there are discobuses which zip all over the island all night which should save your pennies. if you have a few days off clubbing though you could book the car for then to do your exploring. august is quite pricey for car rentals but you should definitely book beforehand as i found it impossible to find a car by just turning up in august.

id say you definitely need a car to see the best of the island. some of the roads are more like dust tracks though, id recomend getting a small 4x4 if your budget allows. too big and its hard to maneouvre through the town centres which tend to have narrow streets with cars parked on one side. that said, i saw most of the island in a small ford fiesta so you should manage without a 4x4.

there are hostals in san antonio which offer the best rates if you are travelling alone, you should definitely book beforehand. this very site offers excellent accomodation. i wouldn't book through anybody else to be honest.

I hire cars from carjet and get the smallest car with air con. None of the roads need a 4x4. If your going in August best to book before you fly as this island can get full.

carjet are very good i use them.sometimes you book a car and get a better one.book way before you go.ok i would say a few roads leading to way out beaches need a 4x 4 sometimes.but i have done them all in a normal car.just drive slow
