I have an accommodation question...

What, in everybody's personal experience, is the "best" (and I'll leave that adjective up to your interpretation) GPS hotel located in central San Antonio?

Reason for asking is that it looks like we've booked the wrong hotel, and to avoid cancellation charges (or at least keep them at a minimum) we need to find a different hotel in the chain.

We're currently at Marco Polo II, but this was booked in error.

Look forward to reading your comments. Make them as colourful as you like!

P.S. Needless to say Piscis Park is not an option (!)

hmmm not a specialist when it comes to GPS hotels I have to admit...

just location-wise I'd say maybe the don pepe? or the formentera apartments? I've never been inside any of them though and have made absolutely no research regarding reviews!

Don Pepe is decent for a gps hotel. Good location for most things in San an, and also seemed not as roudy as others.

There's one across from don Pepe too, think it's called central city. I'd stay there based on what I've seen when in there

Marco pollo I just next door is worth a look rooms much nicer, think they put the much younger party people in Marco pollo II so it's a more chilled next door

Stayed in Central City back in 2002. It was horrendous! Stuck in the tiniest of "apartments", only just enough room for the bed, had to squeeze into the bathroom sideways as the door hit the basin! No air con, no balcony just a tiny little window. Felt like a sauna. Really noisy too, but then it was a proper 18-30's place. I'm sure it's improved since then. Good location though!
A friend has stayed at the Formentera. Said it was fine, just the pool was in the shade all day but it's right next to Calo D'es Moro beach so not a problem.
I've booked to stay at Don Pepe in Sept so you'll have to let me know what it's like!

I was only in there dropping flyers but seemed ok. I'm guessing your like me an won't be in the hotel that much and so doesn't really matter about the size of the room etc mentioned above. Haven't been in the rooms so can't comment either way. I've been in rooms in the don Pepe an they were decent!

Thanks for all your feedback guys. Really appreciate it.

WIC,
Why have you got cancellation charges dude? Thats a bit old hat now isnt it?

Made a tactical error. Opted to go in at the cheaper price with small deposit deal which was non-refundable and cancellation charges applicable even if you cancel well in advance. (in reality this would only have saved us a few quid!)

We could have booked exactly the same hotel through the same travel provider with same dates and paid on arrival with free cancellation up to 48hrs before departure... but we opted not to for the sake of saving pittance.

Lesson learnt.
