IBIZA ROCKS THE RABBIT with Soulwax + Silver Column + Propaganda DJs (June 29th)

After last week's triumphant return of The Courteeners, this week it was time for the first collaboration between Ibiza Rocks and the magazine Playboy under the banner of "Ibiza Rocks The Rabbit" with another much loved combo: Soulwax. The famous fashion photographer Tony Kelly captured the event for an upcoming issue of the magazine (february's edition, apparently). A night hosted by Playboy at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel with Soulwax = a HOT night, obvs!

The dj Dan from indie night Propaganda warmed up nicely while some people prefered to follow the Spain vs Portugal match on the bar's telly!

The scottish duo Silver Column, announced only one week ago, started the proceedings with their infectious electro pop and played most songs from their recently released debut album!

The belgians Soulwax were back, this time without 2 Many DJs afterwards (who will be, for example, this sunday at Space), and put up a great show as usual backed by big screens... one of the best live shows around. Been a percussion lover, half the fun for me was seeing again the drummer thrashing away his drum kit..... what a spectacle. At the end of their concert, the Playboy bunnies appeared on stage for a wee boogie before everybody left with a smile on their face!

Wicked night followed by the VIP after party at the hotel, Ibiza Rocks Bar for a bit and finally (to be after partied to the max) Es Paradis' after show. Next week Calvin Harris... and we all know what that means: roadblock!

Favourite moment of the night: hearing "Chelsea Dagger" by The Fratellis blasting the sound system of Es Paradis!

Every single year, Soulwax are my favourite band of the season as I've always been inspired by their stuff, and it was sooooo good to see them rocking it up there onstage for us again!

This year was a perfect mix of the old Soulwax band stuff and the newer niteversions (covers & remixes). Needless to say I properly geeked out at the front of the stage like a true groupie all night!
