hi all

Well i got back from ibiza today after 2 weeks i stayed at the hotel hawaii on the bay which was very noisy only had 2 days decent sleep while i was there.food was excellent though and the location was perfect.a bit dissapointed with ibiza to be honest after all the hype people give it just seemed like a normal resort and nothing special,I would rather go to benidorm as ibiza is stupidly expensive.

and for the sunset it was nice but just like ant sunset anywhere in the world if you ask me,the sun does go down in other countries also:p

so if you want to go clubbing its great i suppose but no good for anyone else as 3 slush puppy drinks for the kids is 9 euros, you work it out how much it would cost over 2 weeks.

we hired mountain bikes a good way to see the island, and the tourist train is a must as he is very funny and makes everyone feel welcome at a normal price.

rodeo fun park pub for the families, avoid buccaneeros what a dump,i dont want a barman sniffing my glass before pouring me a flat pint at 4 euros.

so my one and only visit to ibiza and will not miss the place one bit.

amid all the love and hype, it's strange to see someone genuinely not like it. shame :(

it can't be for everyone i suppose, and i agree that the prices are very steep in some places.

there's some good tips in there though, thanks for taking the time to share :)

in my opinion ibiza is all about the music which is clearly evident in the millions of flyers and decals posted everywhere throughout the island (how do they change all of those so frequently??) must be some massive printing presses cranking them out all day and night...

sounds like the stuff you did here in ibiza was family oriented and theres def better places to go for that :)

cheers!

I don't agree with clubyao at all!
Ibiza is a wonderful place for kids, thousands of families enjoy the island every year.
Maybe San An bay was the wrong place for the op,why he was paying those prices I don't know?
Sometimes people who are only there for the clubs seem unaware of anything else around them, their limited travel plans (between club locations) don't give them the whole picture.

^^^ What he said.

I think your mistake, first-timer, was all about location.

If I were visiting the island with kids, looking for a family vacation without clubbing, I'd stay somewhere on the East coast. Nicer beaches and probably not as expensive too!

The great thing about the island is there is something for everyone. :)

Sorry you didn't enjoy it 1st Timer :(

I don't mean to sound critical but did you do any research on the island before you went?

Next time go without kids, with/without husband/partner, on your own or not, stay near Ibiza town and have an adventure of a lifetime. Sing with stangers on a mountain, dance on a beach at sunrise, don't go to many Clubs, eat where takes your fancy, listed to the real musicians, do crazy things, then try to get Ibiza out of your soul. i wish it had been like that for you.

We had the exact opposite experience when staying in Cala Llong in 2007 with our little boy (two at the time). At every place we stopped for refreshments, the staff always made a fuss of our little boy, sweets, ice cream, lollies, he was loving the attention! Gorgeous beaces and crystal clear water all around the coast gorgeous inland scenery, it was bliss as a family destination. The apartments were totally geared up for children of all ages, with mini fun fair opposite were perfect for a family holiday.

Sounds like you won't get to experience the nice parts of the island, hope you enjoy your next trip, wherever it may be.

(ps. I may be slightly biased!)
