We arrived on the island on Sunday evening at about 8:30 and with the sun still up, it was still quite warm. It took another hour by the time we got to our appartments (The Marian in San An), then we headed out for something to eat at Tiuanna near the shouting man statue. We had a few drinks then and met up with our friends living over there. We decided to go to Judgement Sunday the first night, I would have liked to go to Space, but I'd rather the vibe there during the day than at night and with Eden only down the road, that sealed the deal! I didn't get there til after 3am and was already fairly well on, only seen Judge Jules and Lisa Lashes, it was just a night to have a bit of crack though rather than a proper full on clubbing experience, which was just as well, as the music wasn't up to much to say the least! Was only drinking too, so spent quite a bit on vodka limon at the bar! Went back to an appartment til early Monday afternoon, before collapsing into bed!
Got up Monday evening and went to Savannah's for dinner and to watch the sunset, it was a bit cloudy though, so didn't really get the full effect. Savannah's again was a bit of a nightmare though, the service seems to get worse there every year, what was one of my favourite spots on the island has really let itself go, I don't know if I'll be going back. That night was just another drinkng night, though I went a bit over board and got absolutely palatic! My mate (Neal Scarborough) was dj'ing that night in Koppa's on the West End. Pints of Vodka and Red Bull were only €6 and there was so much vodka in it, the full can of red bull didn't even fit! While the other's sipped away on there's, I was on my third in no time, though can't rememebr much after the shot of aftershock I did while buying my third pint! I've seen video clips of myself though, and they did not look good! Apperantly I got to bed about 6am!
Got up Tuesday afternoon and was absolutley dying! Watched the Brazil v Ghana match, before going back to bed to try get my act together! Got back up later that evening and felt a little better, had some food before getting ready for the first big night of the week, Gatecrasher Classics @ Eden. The night was billed as Gatecrasher Classics - past, present and future - and it did exactly as it said on the tin! We arrived at 2am just as JFK took to the decks, he started of with Signum - Coming on Strong, amongst the other's he played were Jose Amnesia - The Eternal, Solarstone - Seven Cities and Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes. Dave Pearce was next up and despite still not being able to mix a cake, he also played some cracker's including, Dogzillla - Without You, Sam Saari - Cherish Gouryella - Goureylla and Mystery Land - Y Traxx. Riley and Durant were last on and were the best of the three, all their mixing was perfect and they played the best tunes, including, System F- Out Of The Blue, Veracocha - Carte Blanche, Gouryella - Ligya and Lost Tribe - Gamesmaster.
Gatecrasher went on until about 6:15 Wednesday morning and then came the most memorable few hours of the holiday! We went back to the appts briefly, before heading down to the beach for our own private after party! There were about 30 of us, mainly workers, we went to the little stretch of beach just around grom Kasbah, past the big appartment complex there. It was one of those mornings that just epitomises Ibiza and make it different to anywhere in the world! There were about three groups, our main group and two other's, all chomped, just buzzing of eachother until about 11am, then the sun started coming out and familes started arriving on the beach, so we left before we starting scaring them! Our group went back to our apartments though and sat by the pool drinking and doing more of the same until about 6pm, then crawled up to bed! Got back up about midnight and just had some food and a few drinks til about 4am, then went back to bed, with Cream @ Amnesia in mind on Thursday!
Had a fairly normal day on Thursday, sat by the pool a bit, getting a few strange looks from people that had seen us there the day before! Did a bit of shopping, then had a little siesta before getting ready for Cream @ Amnesia that night! We just had a few drinks in the appartments before hand, then got a taxi at about 1:30. Got to Amnesia and it was already fairly full, Ferry Corsten was on and was playing alot of the main tunes around at the moment like, Liminary - Wasting, Filo & Perry - Ordinary Moment and Nitrous Oxide - Frozen Dreams. Amnesia was looking and sounding as great as always, the megatron was shooting out the dry ice, there was a huge laser and the sound system was as clear as ever. Ferry's last half hour wasn't great as he played the other side of his sound, tunes like Rock Your Body Rock, didn't really do it for me! The night was all about Eddie Halliwell though, it was his Cream album launch and he absolutely rocked it! His mixing was all perfect, loads of scratching and effects, but not too much. Some of the tunes included, O'Callaghan & Kearney - Exactly, Sean Tyas - Lift, Baleric Bill - Destination Sunshine, Duderstadt - Muhanjala (Sean Tyas Mix), Kufdam & Plant - Dream Makers (Shogs 2 Faces Mix), Neal Scarborough - Rule Breaker and Aled Mann - Cold Fusion (Sean Tyas Mix). His last tune was cut short though by the sound men, which was a bit dissapointing, but apart from that it was all good! I have to do a full review of Cream for www.uk-cl.co.uk so I'll post that when it's up! After Cream, made our way back to San An and sat outside Whips for about an hour coming up with a plan, then someone nominated their apartment for a party, so we went back their until some time Friday afternoon, them went back to out own appartment and continued the party until late Friday night/Saturday morning!
We rose about 3pm on Saturday afternoon and I wanted to go to Bora Bora, but everyone else wanted to watch the football, so we went over to Donegans on San An Bay to watch it, stayed out drinking until 2am, then went to bed as we were out of the apartment's at 10am on Sunday. Just spent Sunday chilling by the pool, until we were collected Sunday evening to go to the airport and back to reality!
Overall, it was another great week on the island! I didn't get to do alot of the regular's, like Space and Bora Bora and there was alot more drinking than chomping, meaning no electric shocks in the head (until the last couple of days!) and not as many crazy dreams (though they were still there!). But I still loved every minute of it and can't wait to get over for part 2, roll on August 12th!
