Hi all, im new to this website. i have been to ibiza for the last 7 years, me and my husband love it. we now have a young child so are going back but not to san an and going all inc to a real family hotel so its going to be a really different type of holiday for us.
Anyway.... what is the weather usually like mid may??? we usually go in Aug, obviously we want to get a tan still and go in the pool with our daughter.

Any ideas???
Thanks x

mid may is perfect weather for youngsters as you should be able to be out in the sun most times during the day without it getting too intense.

as for tanning, you'd have to put the hours in but it will be sunny enough for sure, as for the water temp, it may be a bit nippy compared to what you're used to (especially the sea) but will be fine.

i go every year last week of may first week on june it is usually warm and sunny , not scorching but you will still get a good tan and not burnt. good for the little one too!

cala llonga and santa eulalia have good family facilities and i have heard there is a good all inclusive in portinatx but personally i think its quiet up there

san an bay is very family based too, lots of all inc hotels over there.

there are very good babysitting facilities with registered childminders at some of the bigger hotels if you fancy hitting space in the daytime for a few hours! not sure how old you child is tho, you might not want to leave them if they are very small!!!!!

ibiza in May is perfect: not too crouded, perfect weather for long beach days and the best: beaches nearly empty, just for you.I live in BCN and we usually start going to the beach first may. BTW, don't underestimate the sun, even if it's not hot as august, it's dangerous and you can get burnt easely, cos you don't feel as "roasted" as you may feel in august.

the rays of the sun are much more powerful in may even though the temperature isn't so hot - something to do with the distance from the earth combined with the 'angle of dangle' - an astronomical term i don't really understand. the worst sunburns i've seen here are in may because of this.

Thank you!!! so it sounds like may will be ok then.

We were thinking about staying at san miguel beach club, although i know there is hardly anything to do in san miguel. can any one recommend any good all inclusive hotels in san antonio bay then??? we usually stay in the hawaii which we enjoy so entertainment is a big deal for us, mia is 2 in june. would much prefer san antonio bay though.

Thanks again

have a look on tripadvisor or www.realholidayreports.com

it is worth bearing in mind tho that people are more likely to post a negative than a positive.... but you will find out the ones to avoid

any fiesta hotels have good entertainmnt for families and you can at at all the group hotels if you fancy a change of scenery

i have stayed at the club bahamas in playa den bossa in 1995 it was very family friendly although its near space (this was the hotel with the babysitting service).

it has great entertainemnt every night.
-kiddie disco
-quiz
-cabaret (magic/ drag act/"travesti" - very very good actually)
-drinking games
-pool competitions
-football comptitions

we went as 2 couples for clubbing but actually watched the entertainment bfore going out some nights and its was ok!!! cheap/free drinks too! i walked through the pool area last yar and it is now even more family oriented. try and get a ground floor room by the pool as you have your own little terrace straight onto the pool!

i would recommnd this hotel and Playa Den Bossa is good for families but keep away from jet apartments!

it wont be too hectic apart from weekend of 3rd june (space opening)

there is also an aquapark although i dont know if its open in may.
