Ibiza in May

Hi everyone! I'm thinking about coming to Ibiza in the beginning of May. Is it worth it? Clubs are good and all, but I'm looking for some sun. Is it gonna warm up to at least 25 in a couple of weeks?

I'm going on 22nd May and lasy year that week was realy hot . The sea temp is low and pools are freezing as the suns not been on them. All the shops are open and bars but not the big clubs. It's a great time to go and a nice early start to get a tan You'll love it.
 
It's twenty three here today and set to continue by the look of things. All the shops are open now and most of the bars and restaurants will be open by mid may. Shopping can be good it all depends on what you are looking at buying.

Ibiza in May is fantastic :D
Warm enough to sunbath, desert beaches and spring colors in the countryside, I loved when I was there in may :D
 
May is our fav time of year to visit the Island, we normally go for 3 weeks every May. We're off for 10 days in 2 weeks time. The Sun is warm enough to sunbathe, but not too hot as it can be in July/aug. Pacha is open weekends followed by Lucifer carry on afterwards. Sa trinxa is just starting to get good, May in Ibiza is bliss. Have a great time. 8)
 
Well...I´m here and I don´t like it...obviously, this is my first day. But everything looks deserted, the hotel doesn´t even have internet access (had to walk 30 minutes to get to a computer) and the receptionist is clueless.

Help!

Tip: Stop walking around looking for internet access, hire a car and get out exploring! :lol:
 
get yourself over to sunset strip, savannah, cafe del mar should be open. or sa trinxa (salinas) go for dinner and sunset at Hostel la torre which is near san antonio www.hostallatorre.com. Cala Gracionetta is a nice beach to visit this timw of year as it's not too busy and has a great beach resaurant. Just explore 8)

Looks like Froggie has got the adventure sorted by a trip to San An.... :lol:

Good recommendations on the Sa Trinxa tip - and Hotel La Torre is a top spot for a sunset viewing.

probably nothing like Alcudia! ong, just returned from there! you CANT compare mallorca to ibiza! ibiza is waaay better in all aspects

This happens not to move around . Everybody knows how spoilt are Magaluf and Alcudia. Have you been all over the island, is bigger than Ibiza if you let me tell you. So in you short stay I am sure is impossible you had visited all the place. Is not fair. You say is better in all wayssssssss. Have you seen lots of beaches in Mallorca, lots of places, have you been in Palma, Valldemossa, deia, Sa Tramuntana, Portocolom, Biniaraix, Fornalutx, Es Plà de Mallorca, etc? If you been and didn't apreciate it then is clear we just don't have the same taste.

Is strange you say what you saying, Mostly knowing that Ibiza and Mallorca are quite the same in the scenery ( just the part of the mountains is diferent), but ofcourse I know you don't go to Ibiza for the scneary just for the discos and the strip. and what I think is that you dislike comes because you came to Mallorca to find a second Ibiza with the strip all this type of staff wich is not typicall here. Ofcourse you can also see some beautifull and natural sunsets in Mallorca
So you really didnt gave a chance to Mallorca, the real Mallorca , you just didn't find what you was looking for, because here in Mallorca there is not this sort of thing. So you are dissapointed ofcourse. Mallorca have lots of brilliant and magnificient sceneary. Is a pitty you didn't apreciate it. I am sorry for that. But is still a beautiful place despite your opinion.
Don't think I am ofended, just that I defend my place because I know is worth it. you see I know Mallorca quite well and I think is a very nice place to visit. It depends what are you looking for. Mallorca hasn't got all this staff you like so much. So if you come to Mallorca to see the strip , discos, you want find it. Ofcourse Alcudia is horrible and spoilt but Alcudia is not the hole island.Myself wouldn't go to this so touristic places even if I was payed for it.

Personally I prefer Ibiza over Mallorca only for clubbing (wich makes it like no other place in the world for 5 months 8) ).

Also, Mallorca cannot be judged in a way that many do (I'm not saying you did IG ;) ), wich is that you take a one week trip to Magaluf for example and spend the whole time nearby your hotel (sadly this is what most of the tourists do...) that is only full of "tourist attractions" and drunken folk during night time and then say "this place sucks, never visit Mallorca, it's expensive and you'll get nothing in return". This is not the way to do it...If you are going to Mallorca my advice is, that try to avoid the "tourist places" such as Magaluf, Palma Nova and Santa Ponca for example as much as you can ;) ...Why not rent a car instead and take a road trip across the mountains and visit, Port de Soller, Calobra, Port de Pollenca or just explore Palma (it takes time yes, but it's well worth it :D ), etc. There is a good variety of highly recommended palces and things you can do...Mallorca most definitely is not just the neighbourhood around your hotel mates :P ;) ...

Yessss I like a lot too, Is one of the reasons I go to Ibiza but not the only reason , as I like a lot the islan itself, the sceneary, the vibe, the apmosphere. I Like it a lot this is why I go and I am allways in this forum.

You so in the rigth, you couldN't have said it better!!! sOMETIMES I get really upset cause people come to Mallorca and just see the worst part of it, wich is the spoild parts as Magaluf, Alcudia, totally devastaed by cement .
I quite a fan of beaches and scenary and Mallorca have very nice places to visit.
I am the fisrt one who likes to go to Ibiza but Mallorca has many nice things to visit.
