Ibiza in August

It looks like my only chance to get a week away next year will be late August (24th - 30th). Just how busy is it on the roads, beaches and in the clubs?

Thanks,

very busy - but it's the last week of august, so already a tad less busy than in the first 3 weeks of the month. still - peak season.

end of august still a ****ing nightmare for my taste -
try to avoid this time (july+august) at all costs.

at least in many countries the summer-holidays are already over then,
but still too many people around @ "... roads, beaches and in the clubs ..." .

ok ... way better than no ibiza at all :p

I went out 26th - 29th August this year and it didn't feel too busy compared to similar times in the past. Had got to the stage of saying never go out in August but for some reason it didn't feel nearly as bad. The hotel prices are another matter - maybe you can get something reasonable booking ahead but at very short notice I ended up not bothering to get a hotel room at all it was all so overpriced. Car hire really expensive too unless you book well ahead - in which case it's just expensive.

The one proviso I'd say is that the roads in August are awful mainly in the daytime. Getting in and out of San Antoni from the dual carriageway for example can take ages especially in pre-Sunset times (same in PDB at night round Ushuaia chucking-out time) and there are some truly TERRIBLE DRIVERS with a death wish driving way too fast on the rural roads. Had a near-collision with a Cabriolet speeding round a blind corner onto the narrow bridge leading to Cala Jondal (shouted at him LOTS after the emergency stop) and some other hairy encounters over 2 trips last month... so loads of additional stress driving / parking.

But the clubs were not over-full, still found virtually deserted beaches / coves (with some effort admittedly) and the combo of warm nights (no warm tops needed), properly hot temperatures in the daytime and sea so warm it's like a bath = totally winning combo in my book. Plus you still have the greatest choice of club nights and other parties because it's officially "peak" season... several don't start before mid-July and finish at end of August when numbers drop (allegedly - though you could have fooled me from the September air fares which are crazy expensive this month !)
