hey we went last year and are going end August this year and it was fine....... if anything its better as its not too hot !

Can someone explain the difference between one sunset and another?

I know i am being thick, but doesent the sun just kind of, come down from the sky and disappear - why would it be better at one time of the year compared to the other?:?

it's all to do with the humid heat haze in august. the sun appears not to drop into the sea, but into a hazy mass of mist on the horizon. in winter the air is so clear that you can see all the way to the mainland and the definition between sea and sky is a line on the horizon. the sun clearly drops into the sea or off the end of the world where there be monsters.

to state the bleeding obvious, the sun actually sets in different places depending on the time of year.

so depending on where you are, you may not see it fully.

As stephen said its due to weather conditions, in regards to photography october gives much better shots, due to the clarity of the sunsets, as august its just too hazy

here is an example of some shots i took in october the last few years at cala d'hort

not too hot in august?
where do you normally reside,
the mojave desert?
<

... maybe the mojave desert temperatures in august are more enjoyable
because its hot there, but with less air moisture.
