OK, first time I've donw this so here you go...

Weds 30 July:
Got our flight nice and early! We flew with First Choice @ 06:40 and where a little worried abou the flight leaving late etc after some of the stories I've read on here! No problems at all, straight in, straight out, nice to see they've done up the airport nicely! - Marie got the cases while I sorted out the Car Hire, both cases one of the first to come out, car hire done in 5 mins! Great job! In the space of about 20 mins stepping off the place, we where on the fantastic new motorway! Bliss!! Got our asses a brand new VW touran as well! What a motor! I have to say that there was a lot of people against the opening on the motorway, but I have to say it's so muh easier getting around the island now. I was a rep for 10 months in 04 and had to drive on that horrible road between Ibiza town & San An (Many close shaves!!), now I have no worries, loads of bridges, round abouts etc… Great to see! - Might piss a few people off on here, but seeing this from a tourists point of view…
We got to the Catalina at about 10:30ish and was told there's a room available but it didn't have a balcony, just a window… (first floor) we checked it out (and this is for 4 people) and it was tiny!! I asked if we could move into a room with a balcony, lots of pleading later, the receptionist promised to move us to a balcony room tomorrow! All fine and dandy! Dropped our stuff off, picked up another couple of mates and headed to calla Bassa! Old favourite! You can't EVER go wrong with that place… Had a good 5 hours chilling by the beach and getting some colour (marie a wee bit too much didn’t you darling! LOL) Then headed back for a rest got a good hours kip (Don’t you just love sleeping after you've been on the beach all day??!!) then we stopped off for a pizza next door to il Vaticano, was LOVELY! - then ended up checking the new Kanya (what have they done?!!?!? - I used to love that place!! :-( - had a few cocktails at Coastline - LUSH!! Bumped into some friends who work out here, had a fab time then went back to get ready for Subliminal! Then plan was to go to the restaurant, but it was like 12am and we had a bit too much drink by this point so decided to not bother (gutted now in hindsite) - went for a bit of sesh in the West End, the place will NEVER change will it?! Still stinks of p!ss and sick! Lol (nothing beats smelling the west end @ 9am on the way to work…LOL) Won't go back there again unless I need to horrible!!! - Eventually we got our asses into gear and headed to Pacha around 2am, first thin, WHY have they blocked all the old ways you used to be able to get around!?!? Wanted to take me mate who'd never seen the club on the quick tour, but this was night on impossible! Surely now half the club is for flipping VIPS?!?! WHY???!!!! Anyhow, SMB where on and 'brewed' up the crowd with some classics thrown in (GV - FLASH! WOW) and some tunes to get you into mood. Eric came on around 3:30 and his first record was 'Rock your body' nice way to start the set! God everyone jumping around like maniacs! NICE!! Lol - We got into our usual place (the stairs behined the pilon thing - Great place to be!) Just a great set from start to finish really! Eric's a showman and likes to keep everyone entertained! I've seen him when he goes deep, he's ok, but as a DJ on at peak time, I don't think you can get any better! :) Other hightlights: I believe mixed in with the accapella MAW: Work WOW!!!!!! Not seen Pacha go that mental for a LONG time! I was getting shivers! :) - but, by 5:30am we where ready for bed and some sleep! Great night, only thing to look back upon was the access to the club, no good Pacha, you'll loose your hardcore fans by making the place hard to get around! That was one of the hifghtlights, not anymore :-(
Thurs 31July:
After a little sleep, we got up about 11ish as we really wanted to check out PDB & also a bar called Cap Des Falco (planning on getting married in Ibiza NY and this was a place we where thinking about for the reception) - It's really difficult to find, it's right near Las Salinas and you have to drive right through the salt pains to get there. When you do you know why.. What a bar! WOW! I just hope we can afford it :-( after that we headed to PDB where some cheeky twat wanted 27€ for 2 lie down things and an umbrella?!?! Fookin JOKE! We laughed at him and put our towels on the sand! Job done lol - I have to say, I couldn’t belive how quiet PBD is?!? We where trying to work out if it's because Space is shut during the day?! Not too sure, but the streets where ever so quiet?? Anyhow, chilled out ehre for a bit, then headed back to the Catalina for a chill out, ended up in David's (they tried to get us to sit inside when there was two tables outside and got in a mood when I said about those two empty?! No need to that) STILL gorgeous food! I had a chicken Salad PERFECT when you just want something small before a long night! We picked up our friends, got them back to ours, opened up the drinks and then headed to Space to catch Danny Tenaglia!!!! WOW!!! I mean, this guy is my favourite DJ of all time and MAN he's changed his style (a LOT more techno than Tribal!) , but he's still a fantastic DJ! DJ Vibe was on before warming the Discoteca up, DT getting on the mic, chatting to fans etc. Then he came on about 2:30am and from there just battered the crowd with some relentless beats! Track after track, building us up, putting new tracks in bringing old ones in. He didn't use his lights that much, but got on mic and started making werid noises, scaring the crowd and smacking some DARK beats into theplace! Pure FLITH! We had to leave at 6 as we where just shattered! I'm quite shocked this night's not been mentioned much, it was PERFECT. Not massively busy, not quiet, just right! Everyone who was in there was there for the music too, no knobheads (well Italians, but that’s just the way they are LOL) but yeah, def suggest it to anyone looking for something a little Dark & Twisted and Alternative on a thuirsday to FMIF & Cream!
The last two nights we chilled out, caught up with friends etc. had a Fatastic meal at Tijuana's! Lovely staff and food… HIGHLY recommended!
So, to finish off…
1: The Island is no doubt quieter than beofre
2: the secirty is the same! (I was crapping myself aobut visting the Island after readgin aobut what happened to people on here! - I can tell you now - NOTHINGS CHANGED!)
3: GET CAR HIRE! - Best invention ever, you miss out on so much if you don’t
4: Things ARE more expensive, no doubt, you do need more money to enjoy yourself - Very annoying! Spent 400€ in 4 days and only 2 of them clubbing….
5: Ibiza Rock's sucks… Sorry! I've said it! It's just a big money making scheme! All feels clinical - similar to Pacha these days actually!
6: Speaking a bit of Spanish gets you VERY FAR!
7: Will go again, but at 28 I'm starting to feel a little older and things feel samey
8: I LOVE what they've done to San An, the walk ways are FANTASTIC!
9: the Catalina is now officially a DUMP! CAREFUL WHEN YOU BOOK! - the cleaner didn't come in once in 4 days, had to pester aobut towles and there was a massive blood stained hand print on our wall, lovely….
So there you go, my reivew! House & Techno rules still, watch out though! Ibiza Rocks is ready to take ovet the world! LOL
Peace out…
