Ibiza hotel question - Hotel Tropical

Hi,

Is Hotel Tropical a family-run hotel?

My friend and I wanna come over at the beginning of September for about 5 days. It's both our first time - we come for partying ;)

After searching for decent hotel, we found 'Hotel Tropical' has a great value and we were impressed by the reviews and the location.

The problem is - the age of the people isn't mentioned anywhere.

My friend and I are guys at 21 and 22 years old - we look for having some company around our age & style, young people who wanna party :)

Are the people there around our age?

Thanks a lot :)

Hi,

I am assuming you are referring to the Tropical hotel in San Antonio?? If so, this is not family run - to my knowledge anyway, and attracts a young crowd of say 18-28 year olds so would be a good choice.

Can I also recommend the following hotels in both San Antonio and Playa d'en Bossa

Playa d'en Bossa:
Jet Apartments - http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/jetibiza/
Ebano apartments - http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/ebano/

San Antonio:
Mar I Vent - http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/marivent/
Casa Maria - http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/casamaria/
Orosol - http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/orosol/
Sol Bahia - http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/apartments-solbahia/

Thank you two :)

I checked the most of those hotels you said (our destination is San Antonio, I did forgot to mention), and we liked Hotel Tropical the most.

Anyway i'm glad that you approve this fact :) I hope that even more people may write their knowledge here about this subject :)

Everyone in Tropical is young. The pool whoch is across the road is used by loads of people who don't stay there and there is generally a good party on everyday. You'll have loads of fun.

The rooms ain't shabby either. :)

I stayed at the Tropical my first time in IBiza (2003) . It was 18-30 then havent got a clue what it is now. Everytime ive walked passed there over the years its always seem to be full of young people on the balconys.

I've stayed at the tropical 4 times and love the place-it's really central but doesn't get any of the noise or hassle of the west end which it's really close to. Really friendly and helpful staff and the security guy makes sure no-one gets too carried away!

On the subject of the staff, the older guy that runs the restaurant (looks fierce, but he's absolutely 1st class!) never seemed to have any days off. Every mealtime, breakfast or dinner, there he was! Anyone else noticed that?

I spent two weeks at the tropical last year and was really surprised at the quality of the hotel.
Beds are comfy, the rooms are kept real clean and a bonus of fridges in the room to keep any drinks cold for pre-party prep!
Always plenty friendly people ready to party at the pool or down the west end too!

Thats how most of the local staff work in Ibiza. Remember there is very little work on the Island out of season for 7 months. Therefore a yearly wage has to be earned in the 5 month tourist season so every hour that is available will be worked. 5 months on and 7 months off is not a bad work/life balance :)
