Hello party people. I´ve got 5 days left on my vacation and I am desperately want some paella before I leave. It is one of my favorite dishes on earth. It is a happy happy food.

However, my wife won´t eat it. And since most places won´t make it for less than 2 people, I´m screwed.

Does anyone know of a place where you can get a good, fresh paella for one?!? I don´t mean the pre-fabricated stuff you see at cheap cafes... I mean a real paella.

Assistance much appreciated.

Hola Morbyd, I was wondering what were you doing on here ;)

Proper paella should be for two, so I don't know if you will get a good one (not the pre-cooked) if you don't have anyone to share with 8O

Hi Morbyd!!!! you are enjoying your time!!!!!
I don't think you find a real paella for one, it is allways minimun 2 person. A suggestion, don't have starters if you usually have and order two of paella. Eat what ever you can.
Have a nice time and we want a review!!!
Cheers :D :D :D

THat sounds like a good idea and I'm sure you can make it. Don't have breakfast and you are sorted ;)

Apologies if I am leading you down the wrong track but I seem to recall that the Hacienda hotel near San Vicente do a Sunday lunch "buffet" which may include paella - Stephen, McRackin can you confirm - which would solve your problem.
PS - used to be about £25 a head for eats and drinks plus use of the pool etc

Thanks for responding so quickly!

That´s what I thought, but I was just double checking. As much money as I´m spending on restaurants, clubs, drinks, etc., it hurts a little to pay so much for a good 2-person paella and only eat half (and order something separate for the wife), but alas... I have no choice!

Maybe I´ll take some back to the apartment and see if I can figure out how to warm it up properly

Damn... wish I had known that last Sunday... we fly out this Sunday morning

try the restaurant can costa in the centre of ibiza town. it's just off the vara de rey on the same street as mango and arias. it's on the right down the steps. it's cheap cheerful, always packed, so be prepared to share a table! they also do great grilled sardines and the lamb stew is fab - packed full of saffron and potatoes.

alternatively bon profit on the plaza del parque also does single portions of paella.

my wife is not a great paella fan - too much rice - but does like fideua, the noodle version.

Paella for one

Martin who runs the bar/restaurant at Palm Garden Apartments in PDB does a paella for one. You have to book it the day before and he gets the fish etc fresh from the morning market. He leaves out anything you dont like, squid etc.

Good luck
