INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS GET SET FOR THE 1[SUP]ST[/SUP] IBIZA CHARITY POLO CUP

The 1[SUP]st[/SUP] Ibiza Charity Polo Cup in aid of AECC takes place on Saturday June 8[SUP]th[/SUP] at the Ibiza Polo Club

Professionals confirmed to play include Andrew Hine, Nic Roldan,
Jaime Espinosa de los Monteros and Anoushka Bahlsen

Aside from the tournament, activities include kids' entertainment,
an Argentine barbecue and a luxury charity auction

(FIX/IBIZA/27May2013): Ranked in The Sunday Times Top 50 events of summer, the first edition of The Ibiza Charity Polo Cup is the sporting spectacle that's shaping up to set a new standard in Ibiza fundraisers. Organised in aid of the Ibiza & Formentera delegation of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, AECC, the event is confirmed to take place on Saturday 8th June from 17.00hrs in the Ibiza Polo Club, Sant Joan.

Local company Ibiza Delivers, organisers of the event, have been working steadily to put together a programme of activities both on and off the field; the aim of the day being to raise both funds and awareness for the local branch of the national cancer association.

As for players taking place in the tournament, Ibiza Delivers' Director, David Max, has enlisted the help of professionals including ex-England Polo Captain and a man with over 20 years experience in his game, Andrew Hine as well as Nic Roldan- a glittering reference both in the polo and modelling worlds, Alejandro Novillo Astrada, another champion belonging to one of iconic families of Argentine polo; not to mention the current president of the Spanish Federation of Polo, Jaime Espinosa de los Monteros.Other players confirmed on the day are Carlos Grasida (legend of the game, 10 goal player) and Gaston Laulhe (international winner in England, Dubai, St Moritz…)and Anoushka Bahlsen, heiress to the German sweet cake empire of the same name, is amongst the female players lined up.

On the other side of the fence, models Poppy and sister Cara Delevingne – hailed as the new Kate Moss and the current face of Burberrys- will be joined by a host of other well known faces from the sporting, fashion, music and media worlds, all in support of the fundraising efforts of Ibiza Delivers for the AECC.

Throughout the day, a picnic, barbecue, Serrano and sushi bar will keep hunger at bay and for the children, entertainment from Cachirulo amongst other activities. Post tournament, it's the charity auction with a select number of luxury lots up for bidding. To date, donations include villa holidays from International Villas; a home treatment package from Ibiza Retreats, a Private Dining experience with a top chef and bar service for 14 people thanks to Ibiza Delivers & The Bar, two nights in Atzaró with spa session and a beautiful Jaeger-LeCoultre timepiece among many others.

The Ibiza Polo Club itself, opened in 2011, is situated in the heart of Sant Joan, in the north of the island of Ibiza and has already played host to a number of polo matches in its short history.

The idea of holding Ibiza Charity Polo Cup for the AECC came about partly as a result of previous collaborations between the Spanish Cancer Association and island resident and renowned DJ Anthony ‘Antz' Bryans, who will be taking charge of the music at the event with the help of his very special guests TBC. Bryans, himself a cancer survivor, works continuously for both the AECC and Teenage Cancer Trust, playing a key role in a variety of other events for both organisations, both on and off the island. Also confirmed to perform at the event is Gipsy Moreno, ex-member of the legendary group of musicians, the Gipsy Kings, famed for bringing ‘Rumba Catalana' to the masses.

From David Max's point of view, “The Ibiza Charity Polo Cup is an event designed exclusively to help the Ibiza & Formentera delegation of the Spanish Association Against Cancer. All members and organizers are volunteering their time, energy and equipment free or at minimal costs because our inspiration is simply to donate as much money as possible to the Ibiza Association for its oncology patients. our intention is to re-set the clock in terms of how events on the island raise money for charities.”

Sue Mari, Vice President of the AECC Ibiza & Formentera said that the organisation was “once again delighted with local efforts to raise much needed funds for the island's oncology patients. Thanks to Ibiza Delivers for their brilliant and original initiative and of course, as always to Antz for getting the ball rolling!”Ibiza Delivers would like to thank the event's sponsors, Blue Marlin & Roman Fortunato and also Babylon Beach and Ibiza Marina , sponsors of the event's private tents and its collaborators:

THE IBIZA POLO CHARITY CUP RAISES HOPES AND FUNDS FOR AECC

A game of numbers for organisers Ibiza Delivers as more than 500
attendees help raise nearly 8,000€ for the AECC on 8[SUP]th[/SUP] June

Aside from the polo, a live performance by Gypsy Moreno (Gipsy Kings),
a visit from Poppy Delevigne, and DJ Antz on the decks made the day

The family friendly fundraiser promises to return next year

(FIX IBIZA/13th June 2013): After several months spent planning the island's first Ibiza Charity Polo Cup, organisers Ibiza Delivers are delighted to report that last Saturday's fundraiser topped all expectations, uniting more than 500 fans of the equestrian sport at the Ibiza Polo Club grounds and raising some 7,911€ for the local cancer association, AECC (Ibiza & Formentera delegation), in the process.

In the front row, familiar faces including international model Poppy Delevigne watched an exciting and hard-fought match between the two teams. Playing for Ibiza Delivers, Anoushka Bahlsen (-1), Jaime Espinosa (1), Alejandro Novillo-Astrada (8), John Ambrogio (8) whilst on the Blue Marlin/Roman Fortunato team, formed by the latter (0), Adriano Agosti (0), Nicolas Roldan (8) and Gaston Laulhe (7) seized victory with a 4-3. Agosti scored twice, as did Anoushka Bahlsen, while Nic Roldan, Gaston Laulhé and Alejandro Novillo Astrada took one apiece.

Novillo Astrada was also rewarded as the best player of the game, whilst Picasso, ridden by Nic Roldan in the 4th chukker, was the best playing pony.

Throughout the day, kids activities kept the younger members of the community entertained and with a picnic, Argentinian BBQ and sushi on offer, it's fair to say no one went hungry at the event.

Post polo, guests were also thrilled by a live performance from Gipsy Kings' founding member, Gipsy Moreno and danced the remainder of the night away to reputable island DJ, Antz Bryans, known for his undeniable ability to get any party started- and that he did.

Ibiza Delivers, organisers of the event, is a premium online supermarket & yacht provisioning service delivering to villas, yachts & events on the island. Company director, David Max, had this to say on the outcome of the charity fundraiser: "We want to thank everybody who has made the inaugural edition of The Ibiza Charity Polo Cup possible; to all our partners and event organizers who volunteering their time, energy and equipment free or at minimum costs with the sole aim of raising funds for, in this case, the Ibiza & Formentera delegation of the AECC."
