Ibiza by Car From London

Yes I have done it about 8 times :)

Although we tended to make it last 3-4 days and took the back roads through France and Spain.

But the quickest route is motorway all the way. Bloody knackering though! RAC gives you an accurate toll road route, it takes 27 hours. But you really do need to rest. Paris is a nightmare to go through. I would advice stopping off half way in Southern France and getting a nice hotel. Do you want to go to Barcelona? The quick 6 hour ferries are the best, we took the 13 hour ferry 8O

Driving to Ibiza is the only way. If you get the 13 hour ferry it normally comes in just in time for sunrise. Ibiza town looks stunning!

It cost us about 120E (£80ish) in tolls

Yes it is very expensive to ship the car over. I found iscomar ferries the cheapest.

Ferries from Dover to France, SpeedFerries are the cheapest, about £27 for car and two people. (these are all single fares)

We took Transmediterranea last year and it cost 246.70euros and that was armchair class!

Let me rephrase what I said earlier...

..in fact, no, I'll just repeat it:

Not done it before, although I hear the roads are much clearly in mid July, and the quuickest route is (and I found this hard to believe, although my mate at the AA tells me it's the truth) via Bromley apparently. Then France> Spain ferry to ibiza. Job's a good 'un.

Or Bromley>Portsmouth>Athletico Bilbao.

Either way's good.

The roads were clear all the way, thats the beauty of France! Perfect and clear 100mph nearly all the way 8)

The Ferry from Portsmoth costs about £500!!!! Plus it takes 38 hours aprox. OK good if you don't want to put much millege on your car...

Other option would be driving to Denia and take the ferry there as the journey from Denia to Ibiza is the shortest. Motorway from BCN to Denia in June or July will be fine

the route planner's with RAC/AA etc are pretty good buckers.............the best option is without doubt to drive through france and spain. even if you share the driving you'll still need an overnight stay somewhere south of france (like sirens says).

ferry to bilboa or santander are soooooooooo boring, 24 hours on a ship (get real!!).

the adventure of driving through france and spain and trying to make it to the port on time for your ferry is the perfect way to kick off your ibiza adventure this summer.....................gettin lost is also part of the fun!!

Half of our party in July are driving over and camping on route. We're flying as we can't get the extra week but it's something i'd love to do.

I'll ask my friends tonight what route etc they're taking, although I know they def get the ferry from Barca.

i can feel a road trip comming on next year
would be good if we got a convoy going from people around the uk on spotlight and travelled together like the gumball rally
