Ibiza buses

Did a complete reversal this holiday, usually it's a taxi that gets me from A to B, but didn't set foot in one at all this time around. Took buses everywhere, great, regular, cheap service. Putting my plastic mac and spectacles on, I think the Salinas bus stop was my favourite, well, not the stop itself more so the location. Cross the road and you're on one of the more famous beaches on the Island, and buses run every 30 mins.

Least favourite bus stop, Eivissa bus station, which isn't actually a station, just a street. Once you get the hang of the surroundings it's pretty simple, but the look of confusion on people's faces as everyone gets off, and mutters of 'oh, this must be it then' raised a smile. If you're expecting a nice modern bus station like San Antonio then don't, one of the ticket offices has two doors, go through the wrong one like I did, and you're in a bar full of locals staring at you, not sure what the Spanish is for 'bloody foreigners' but I'm guessing one of them said it.

Airport bus number 9, excellent, nice relaxed cheap journey from the Airport to San An however, on the return journey, when you need to be on time for your plane, make sure you leave plenty of time, as the bus stops at practically every stop between San An and St Josep.

Great help that the Ibiza/Airport bus is now every 20 minutes. Must add that the buses over on Formentera are also excellent now, lovely little bus stops, plenty of timetables which are, for once, decipherable, virtually the whole of the island is covered and a simple fare structure.
Short journey = e1,60
Longer journey = e2,20
Day ticket (excluding orange "tourist" bus) = e7,-
Dunno why peeps bother with the "tourist" bus, except that it's there when the tourist ferries get in. The proper buses stop outside the main ferry terminal only, which is a long walk round the port for the day-trippers.
