Ibiza boat hire & Formentera

Hi, am arriving on the island on July 4th. Their are 4 of us and we're thinking of hiring a cheap(ish) motor boat to go over to Formentera. Just a few questions.

Is it allowed for us to just simply hire a boat and go over to Formentera without a captain?

Can we get something for under £200?

Do they generally get booked out in advance so we would maybe have to book/pay for the boat whilst in the UK?

Anyone recommend any decent companies?

Thanks in advance xx

£200.00 will just about cover fuel for the day.you need a captain.for insurance.and currents and know which lane so to speak be in.very busy in height of summer.

you would be better off just getting the normal ferry boats that go over everyday.20 euro each

Even a large RIB works out £400-£600+ a day depending on who you hire from, fuel usage and how many are on the boat. It's not really a cheap excursion but you have the freedom & flexibility to go where you want and do special stuff (sea conditions permitting).
