Abbey,

I think this site just about covers every aspect of the Island and offers excellent advice on whats available and what to do. The only thing I would like to say is that Ibiza means something different to everyone, from is tranquill coves to its maddest clubs. Open yourself up to everything it offers, even if its not something you would normally do. Hopefully you will see its beauty and find a place for it in your heart like most of the people on this site have.

Enjoy

definately go with an open mind, avoid the holiday reps, avoid their excursions and make the most of the island. to me this means try and do as much as possible apart from going raving.

my list of things to do looks something like this;

go to pacha, space and amnesia

watch a sunset from cafe mambo on a friday while pete tong does his live broadcast

go to playa den bossa, spend the afternoon sunbathing, then dance on a table at bora bora

explore the old town and spend a night out in ibiza town visiting the bars and people watching

hire a car and visit a beach away from the majority of tourists, benirras, or try to find atlantis.. etc

drink bottles of cava while getting ready for a night of debauchery

visit santa eulalia and its road of restauants

eat paella and tapas and drink sangria

ride a jetski

have a charicature or portrait drawn by a street artist in san antonio

buy some hierbas as a souvenir

Ditto on Stuie. Very well said.

I think Jai's post has encapsulated the spirit of Spotlight better than any I've seen from longtime members of these boards!

Alex311279's post above is perfect. I'd only add
- a visit to Space
- check out a rural restaurant (there's some ideas in the General Question & Answers section)
- maybe go to the hippy market at Las Dalias in San Carlos, since it's your first time.
- take a day ot half-day and ride the boat over to Formentera and look around.

Have fun!
