Ibiza 2010 - The best few days of my life!

This morning I returned from 5 days of pure pleasure on the White Isle. It was my 4th-5th trip, but with careful planning, it was by far the most enjoyable! We had about 40 people join us out there in the end.

----------------------------------------------

Friday 3rd September: GETTING THERE

I started the day off at work, but at 12pm I was picked up by my Dad and his wife (who came for the whole trip, and are still out there partying without me!), and we headed to Bournemouth airport. When we arrived we thought it would be a good idea to walk towards Ibiza town to see if we could flag down a taxi instead of waiting in the queue outside the airport for over an hour. Didn't seem like a great idea after an hour of walking without any luck of a taxi stopping, but we ended up going into the first bar we came accross coming into Playa D B. We had some tasty tapas and they called us a cab.

First thing we did when we arrived at San An was head to my fave place on the island for the sunset - Cafe Mambo. Of course, it didn't dissapoint! From what I remember, we didn't go completely mental on the first night. Think we probably ended up in bed by 2-3am.

Saturday 4th September: ZOO PROJECT

My DJ partner Chris and his lot arrived on the Saturday, and we headed straight for Zoo Project. What can I say!?!? What an amazing place! It really seems like there's a little randomness coming back to Ibiza, which is a good thing! The Seal pitt was my fave, and the music absolutely rocked. Very underground, without me hearing a single track I recognised for the whole night! Again, I'm not sure when we headed back.

----------------------------------------------

Sunday 5th September: GIG AT KANYA AND JUDGEMENT SUNDAYS

One of my fave days on the Isle, as we got to play so a chilled out crowd at Kanya in the gorgeous sunshine, and then head to Eden for another superb event! I'd booked Jules for one of my events in the UK a few times, so he sorted a few of us out with VIP entry. We'd chatted to him for a while at Kanya for the pre-party with a few other recognisable names, that seemed very surreal!

At Eden, my fave set was from Howard Donald, who rocked it. Wasn't sure how his set would be, but it was one of my faves from the time I was out there.

----------------------------------------------

Monday 6th September: CHARTERING A PRIVATE YACHT

Probably the best day of my life! My Dad treated 18 of us to a day touring the west-side of the island. For a few hours near Es Vedra we moored up above shallow waters, and did a little snorkelling, diving off the boat/cliffs etc. For sunset, we assumed our position just outside Mambo, where I foolishly and drunkenly swam to shore to grab a beer. When I was just about to swim back with the beer, I fell over and hit my head on the rocks. Luckily I wasn't concust... but it was a hell of a fall, and the few thousand people staring at me bafflingly probably found it pretty amusing!

----------------------------------------------

Tuesday 7th September: PLAYING THE BOAT PARTY AND SPACE

Most years I've DJ'd out there, and I've been lucky enough to play some of the better clubs and bars on the island. The reason I'd planned this years trip was because I'd been booked to play alongside my DJ-partner (Chris from Cardiff) for Pukka Up at Space, including the pre-boat-party. Both sets were nothing short of mind-blowing! Great surroundings, great company and a sense of achievement for myself too. It's taken a while, but I've finally played what's considered the best club in the World, be it one of the smaller rooms lol. It was amazing to hang around with a few of the people from back home like Laura (one of the Pukka Up girls - and also my ex), Ed & Mark from Pukka Up etc. It was also nice to meet a few new faces.

----------------------------------------------

Wednesday 8th September: THAI AND GETTING READY TO LEAVE!

It was a pretty chilled affair on Wednesday. I woke up at 3pm on a lilo on a balcony! I headed down to Kanya where a few of us spent a few hours sun-bathing. My flight was at around 1am, so we all had a Thai meal, then I caught a bus to the airport.

----------------------------------------------

Thursday 9th September: WORK!

Well here I am, writting this at work [lunchtime!], and I'm falling asleep! I'm very much looking forward to getting to sleep tonight, probably with the echoes of the past few days.

Sounds great Paul. We did 4 days over that weekend and were at Zoo on Saturday early evening til close and had a great night :D

We're definitely chartering a boat next year 8)

Where did you stay?

Sounds like you had a good un!

We were at Kanya on Sunday night, we were sat by the pool when Judge Jools arrived gently sipping our red wine.

We also did Zoo on Saturday, agree with you about the randomness thing. I also didn't recognise one tune all day, had an amazing time!

If you don't mind me asking do you know how much it cost to charter the yacht? Hoping to get a load of people together to do a villa holiday next year and to get a yacht for a day would be immense!

Just seen your page on Facebook and noticed you know Drew Scott a guy who I work with.

Yeah, chartering a yacht was definitely worth it! It was around £1250 I think. There were 18 of us on there, and it included free beer and sangria. We all paid like £30 each, and the Dad paid the rest. He said he'd treat me for getting him on the VIP guestlist for Space and Eden.

I've done the whole Villa thing before, and I loved it. I didn't want to get bogged down with gathering money from everyone this year thought. I'd recommend going for Casa Cox near San Rafael. It belongs to Sarah Cox, who rents it out a week at a time when she's not there. Here's where you can book: http://www.ibizavillas2000.com/villas.htm

Adam: To be honest I don't know all of the people on my Facebook. I went through a stage of accepting everyone who requested, and adding loads who attended my events. Drew Scott sounds familliar though. He's a DJ right?

Boardgrrrl: We stayed at Poniente Apartments in San Antionio. It's 2 hundred yards from the beach near Kanya on the Sunset Strip. Nice place, friendly staff, clean, decent sized rooms etc: http://www.ponienteplaya.com/

Haha, Casa Cox, how original :) Any idea of costs? The website isn't very helpful,, I take it you need to ring for quotes.

Yeah Drew's a DJ from Leeds.

A load of our mates stayed at Poniente Playa.

Ah, I might have seen Drew on the line-up from when we were booked for Gatecrasher last year. Probably met him too.

Casa Cox I think was around the £2500 mark from what I remember. If there's 15 of you (which is comfortable), it's only around £160 each! It's stunning though. Nice driveway leading up to the villa, with the pool overlooking the mountains. Very impresive place!!
