OK I have been back for a week now. Have been meaning to do this for ages but have never seemed to find the time. Got my photo's back this morning, some of the ones from dc10 are I'll scan the ones that are fit for public viewing once I can find somewhere to upload them. Anyway here goes:
Monday - get the 6am Easyjet flight. Arrive in Ibiza around 09:30. This was suppose to be a chilled trip as it was arranged at the last minute (reading about everyone going on here the week before pretty much persuaded me that I could not wait until September) and I was going with a mate who had never been before, rarely listens to house music and was not up for 4 day benders After arriving at our hotel in Playa Den Bossa (very very average place) we caught some sun. My mate wanted a sleep before we went to dc10. I accepted this as it never really got going until well into the afternoon last year. I started on the vodka....We got down to dc10 @ 3pm. As soon as I walked in I felt at home and remembered how good this place was Saw 'a man about a few dogs', this is where things started to get hazy. Remember the music been pretty deep but then got really into it. And the new 'roof' definitely works, it is far cooler esp with all the new fans going off. When we first walked in it was my BYT Tania on the decks Have been told we were hanging out with some crazy spanish people (as my photo's show ). I can remember still been @ dc10 as late as 11:30pm This was one to remember. Got to bora bora for the last 15 mins or so. By this point my friend was up for home whilst I was up for a 5 day bender. Which sady never happened Passed out sometime around 3am.
Tues - I woke up feeling great. Spend the day in the sun near bora bora. Come 5:30pm and EVERYONE started to get their groove on. Bora Bora was going off. I won't explain it as anyone who has been there knows that this place is so good Lots of fit fit giriles, a beautiful setting and gee laying down the funkiest sounds. I can remember just a little more love been dropped whereby I nearly suitably wet myself Stayed til sundown then home for a quick shower. It was hard dragging ourselves away but went home for a quick shower before heading back down to bora bora. Stayed til closing and thought surely pacha cannot be an better than this?
Did the usual bar crawl around ibiza town.....rock, base bar. Soooo many BYTs around (none as nice as Sienna Miller though) Got to underwater @ pacha around 2. Chilled out on the roof terrace for a while as the place started to fill up. Room was pretty full by the time groove armada who tore the place apart. Cannot really remember what they played (quite a few of their own productions). Around 5am the dancefloor was covered in a white sheet (think its by foc i fum?) which was wicked. Only added to the atmosphere. Amazing vibe inside pacha but less BYTs than normal. Darren came on around 5ish and played very techy but it was well received. Left sometime just gone 7. Again my plans for an after-party (space) were dashed as my mate said 'we have been out too long already'. Popped into the global room for trevor nelson as well. Nice crowd but boring music IMO. The music had no funk. Just slow r and b.
Wednesday was pretty similar to Tuesday. Had planned to watch sunset @ kuhurmas (sp?) but once bora bora starting going off it was impossible to leave. How good is bora bora? I have known it to be good in previous years but never this good Best crowd and vibe on the island. And the funkiest music. Grooving down here all day and night. Home around midnight for a quick shower before heading to ibiza town for drinks and food Bar crawl followed. Cannot remember when I got home but was amazingly drunk.
On Thursday we went to a fantastic beach. Cala Jondal. It was nice to chill away from the main crowds. Great food at a restaurants name I cannot remember. Begins with f. Anyone? Either way fantastic setting and chilled the day away. Home for a quick siesta before getting down to bora bora (where else?) Going off would be an under-statement. Fantastic, amazing yet again Again stayed here until close. Now we had a dilema on our hands cream or underground? Theres should have been no choice really but somehow we ended up going to cream. WTF Anyway we had only planned on staying for a while but the upstairs bar was a lot of fun. Talking to this BYT behind the bar. A local called Ibizian girl called Viki. Cue us coming down from the VIP room (I only mentioned this because I want it to be known that we did not pay for such a crap club IMO) and a very nice girl from a Hungarian TV channel (no I have never heard of it either ) with camera and mic says:
"I zee you have just been upstairs - can we do an interview with you?"
Me: (feeling semi-important) bellows "yeah of course"
Her: usual club questions follow.....
Me: I am getting a tad over-happy and excited now
Her: Why did you come here tonight?
Me: grabing the microphone from her (I am normally pretty reserved) and shouting "because its free (as loud as I can)!!!!!!!!!!"
Her: Right, ammmm.....ok. Thank you.
Terrible crowd @ cream. Even the terrace was not really going off. Did not even attempt to go into the main room as I hate that music and it was way too busy. Also too many chav type people. Still it was good fun even if the crowd was very very poor IMO and the music very average. Jo Mills did her best to create a vibe on the terrace with a bit more success.
Friday - woke up after 2 hours sleep and could not believe that I had not had one major bender since I had been here We were actually harbouring thoughts of changing our flights but nasty easyjet said it was too expensive so ruled it out. Probably for the best in hindsight. Only delays the inevitable
Packed our stuff as we had to vacate room @ 12 and off we headed to passion for Sienna stalking . Opps I meant food and drinks before heading for space. I knew this 'Good Friday's @ space party was going to be nowhere near as good as Sundays, or saturdays, or Tuesdays or Thursdays @ space but still space was space and was ALWAYS going to be fun Wrong. Although I will say in defence of the party the music was surprisingly pretty fcukin good Its just that space was pretty quiet and it seemed as if only english people knew about the party. This is no bad thing but it seemed to be all the english people who go to san antonio et al. Sorry if I am offending anyone but its just not my scene. Tried to get into as its space right but found it hard going. As soon as it got to 17:00 I knew bora bora would be going off so off we head.....
How much fun can you have in one place? Happy days. Lots of smiley attractive people all in one place. One world under a groove. Definitely. Defected were in the house as well. Around 18:00ish we are happily dancing away near the bar and suddenly this guys comes up to my mate and says "I'll give you a 150Euros for your bandana (it cost next to nothing). Que our confused look. His reaction was do you want more money? And I'm like here you go and then catch his eye thinking that I recognise him. Low and behold its a rather 'over-tired' Jonathan Woodgate!!! He starts winking and smiling and says don't say my name He buys it and says he does not know how to put it on as he's never worn one before My mate puts it on for him He walks off happy as anything. We see him a few hours later and he recognises us and comes over and kisses both our hands!!!!!!!!!!! Fcukin hilarious. Seemed a really nice guy actually.
His girlf? The one from big brother was there as well. Not bad looking. Meesiest award has to go to her. Dancing on the tables and bar!!!
The last few hours @ bora bora are the worst. Your enjoying but equally you know your getting on an aeroplane very soon whilst everyone else is heading to pacha or el divino Remember classic after classic been dropped but can't remember the names. 22:30 came round way too quickly and it was time to head to the airport with a tear in my eye
We know what happens from here so I won't go into it.
But I am heading out for the closings. Probably going to leave the day before basics @ space. See you all on a terrace soon Oh and if you have kept up this far. Well done
