I saw Saeed Younan spin last night

Saw him a year ago, it was a decent set but nothing memorable.

Last night it was progressive, thumping house at its worst. I am all for the grandiose buildups and the collecting of steam before a great slammin' track, and I have plenty of patience... but he seemed to play the same track for like 15 MINUTES 8O and then the buildup/drop would be like "oh.... that's it??" I would start jammin' out to a fresh track on the dancefloor, and then start looking around in boredom or crave a ciggy because there wasn't any really any variety or depth to the music.

I was disappointed, and I hate giving bad reviews about DJ's... I really do respect them all immensely. But unless he was having an off night... he does need a little work if he is going to be as fookin' radical as his counterpart, Palash :P

Speaking of which... an album recommendation from PG... This one is a lot of fun.

Addictive beats is RIGHT. Sort of tribal, party house from Saeed on the first disc (WISH he played like this last night  ) and Palash hits you with a darker prog sound, tinged with a little Middle Eastern vibe in parts, on the second disc. Me likey. :P
