it was very exciting really - I was on the phone for 40 mins setting up forms to limit tax implications and setting a limit to sell at - I feel quite the Wall Street high flier.... 
I have just sold my shares...

the company I work for - I have shares with them and I get a 15% discount on them.... so I have set them to sell at a set rate or above.

V good - my current investments are sainsburys, vodaphone & northern rock (bought at £1.40 may I add)...I love it, I can beckon a graph on the screen in work anytime that shows me real time what its worth, I feel liek george soros!

oooh I am the same - been on NYSE most of the day - isnt it just brilliant - you feel like a mini-rockerfeller - pity its aaaaaaaaall gonna be spunked away in Ibiza....

thank you zutalor - yes I am well aware of the state of my Northern Rock!
Only have 30 quid, was just interested in having a stake in what happened. There could be compensation, there could be a sell off to someone else who re floats it in 10 years time and makes me a billionaire.
Or. As you say & most likely, they will end up being wiped out - and to be honest quite right to. Just fun to have a stake in it!

someone told me it might be lloyds eventually, but given the current state of affairs that's unlikely - and i don't know how good a rumour that is. at least it was only 30 quid, a few of our clients got hit big time. i don't think they should get money back either - you wouldn't go down the bookies and moan if your horse finished last!
ha, i don't know about nose in the trough, but i'll screen dump my portfolio tomorrow and you can have a look at it. apart from commodities, everything's all over the place at the minute.

totally agree mate - although I do think their is more of a responsibility on fund / pension sellers to make it clear that it is a trip to the casino.
