A personal note to the Spotlight regulars:

OK... after exchanges in a couple of threads today, I thought I'd make a global announcement of a simple fact so that people will stop thinking that I believe otherwise:

There are things that I don't know, and other things about which I could be wrong.

There. I've said it. Dan X can rejoice () though I'm not sure why it's so important for me to spell it out as no one else here is expected to. Nowadays, I can't make so much as a mistake in word choice without getting jumped on by some people.

I've developed this reputation as a "know-it-all", which to be honest irks me as I'm no more of one than many of you. Nevertheless, I'm really not that kind of person in life and it's somehow developed into my persona on here, which I don't like. Whatever I've done to put myself in that position, I'll gladly rescind (and I'm going to try really hard to stay away from football threads )

I do like this forum so I hope we can all drop this now and, in the famous words of Rodney King, "just get along". Beers on me at Bora Bora in June.
