I don't know, or maybe I'm just wrong

A personal note to the Spotlight regulars:

OK... after exchanges in a couple of threads today, I thought I'd make a global announcement of a simple fact so that people will stop thinking that I believe otherwise:

There are things that I don't know, and other things about which I could be wrong.

There. I've said it. Dan X can rejoice (;)) though I'm not sure why it's so important for me to spell it out as no one else here is expected to. Nowadays, I can't make so much as a mistake in word choice without getting jumped on by some people.

I've developed this reputation as a "know-it-all", which to be honest irks me as I'm no more of one than many of you. Nevertheless, I'm really not that kind of person in life and it's somehow developed into my persona on here, which I don't like. Whatever I've done to put myself in that position, I'll gladly rescind (and I'm going to try really hard to stay away from football threads )

I do like this forum so I hope we can all drop this now and, in the famous words of Rodney King, "just get along". Beers on me at Bora Bora in June.

Roll on Ibiza

here's a method for you to stop being abused:

just say 'I think' before everything rather than just making everything out to be fact

works for me (and I really am a know it all  )

"There are things that I don't know, and other things about which I could be wrong.

I have to say this to myself 10 times in front of a mirror every morning.

It's funny how adding IMO to something will get you out of situations where you have a reputation of being a "know it all". That's just IMO.

I can't agree more with bripmon and Nick.
Assertiveness is the only way ;)

Don't worry Morbyd, I always thought it was obvious that you knew nowt.

It's a shame that you have been labelled in this way, when I, an actual arrogant know it all, get away scott - free with my rubbish.

(The key is a self depreciating sig. such as mine which implys that all your comments are not to be taken seriously)

See, I'm a know it all  .

In the words of the walrus..."Don't go changing, just to please me...."

Well I won't be able to hide from ya since we're staying in the same hotel on practically the same dates! In any case, now we've got your new pad to celebrate.

I am smelling a new thread topic or reality TV show. "What Should Morbyd's New Name Be?"

Morbs, I reckon you should have a sex change and become a woman 8O :p It's a given that we do know everything and we are always right
