How reliable is AirBnB?

Made a thread in the off-season forum but I realise not much traffic and it basically answered my question. Looking at Idealista, but as warned there are scams on there. Just wondering if the same can be said for AirBnB? I know it's been cracked down on a lot by the local authorities the past few years to make sure listings are legit, and from AirBnB's side I know they deal with scammers swiftly.

Just wondering if it's a decent option for a most-of-April-possibly-into-May rental?

I have used them before - turned out some Dutch outfit were renting most of an apartment complex in San An and re-listing at a premium. A bit annoying paying extra, but certainly not a disaster.

Any help appreciated basically.
 
we use Airbnb at least once a month (not within the covid spell) we try to always use a ‘Superhost’ only and make sure the reviews are all gravy. Never had a problem with any of our stays personally in all the years we have been using them. Found some absolute cracking gems along the way
