Thanks!! It's gonna be trial & error i suppose, just have no real experience of Central London rush hour, just know it's a bit tasty!!! :(

hmm rush hour phil, happens betwixt the hours of 7.30-9.30am......when real people...people with jobs, go to work...not like you lying in bed stinking of s**t!!!!!.........let me put it in your language.........."twenty to trishia"!!!

it's gonna be a good 2hrs jjinit.

the roads from SE London, and esp through the tunnel, are, as we say in London "Farkin Murdah" at that time of the morning.

TBH i don't envy you that drive every am.

is there an alternative??

tube is out as have company car!! mind you i dont expect i'll be in the office everyday!!

plus the drive home through the blackwall tunnel :? Paul used to own a gym in welling, and have to drive home to east london, used to take him forever  especially when you get the nobs that try to drive their "too high" lorries through there

Jjinit, you are travelling at the worst time, if you left home at 6 you would probably do the trip in 30 mins, but if you leave at 7 it could take anything between an hour and 2.5 hours depending on how well the tidal flow through the tunnel is working.
The only other way to drive is down the A2 thru New Cross but that is funked in the mornings also. Unless you can start work early or late get used to spending loadsa time in Q's in SE London otherwise you will go CRACKERS ;)

live North of the river, you know it makes sense

Boom, Boom!!!!

Cheers guys, better make sure I have some good cd's etc!!

What about m25?? anti-clockwise?? My boss (new boss) lives near Dartford, which is further out than me and she says it can take anywhere between 40mins-2hrs!!

:x

The Blackwall tunnel is a nightmare as somebody else has already pointed out, you could go via Greenwich, Surrey Quays etc, but im not sure what the lesser of the two evils would be? At rush hour any route can take ages, depends on the luck of the draw as they say. Oh don't even consider the M25!!!!!!!!

fair enough!!

im sure i wont have to be in the office every day as im field sales and ill be out seeing people, so if im in the office once a week and dont have to use the car ill leave it at home and go via train/tube which i know takes 50 mins tops!!!

we'll see how i get on :?

thanks for the tips guys ;)

yeah, was talking to Paul about this last night, and he said 2 hours you might just make it 8O dont envy you one bit mate. We come past there at around 10.30 last night, and the whole funking thing was solid, disgusting

good luck!

if u study the A-Z and use craft backroads, you should be able to do it in no time.

best bet to cross the river is finding a way to get to Southwark Bridge (used to work round that way, and it was nearly always empty). and once to that point Clerkenwell is only about 15mins away.

Best investments you can ever make (apart from sat nav ;) ) for driving around london are an A-Z and a compass with suction mount that goes on your windscreen.
