How is Ibiza for wheelchair users?

My mate back in England needs a holiday. He's in a wheelchair. I'm really not sure how he would get on if he came to Ibiza though. I know that it would be just about impossible where I'm living but what about some of the other towns?
Anybody have any experience with this?

i think access is quite good.
in the last years they build a lot, f.e. special access to beaches
in playadenbossa (next to nassaubeach) und in talamanca (next to the hostal) etcpp

they are getting better for wheel chairs

They are getting better for wheel chairs much better than years ago , having said that resorts which are easy pushing for you if of course your pushing will be Playa den bossa , San Antonio Bay thats from the egg going towards Cala de Bou area also Santa Eulalia not to bad . Cala Llonga not to bad either. Hotels with ramps or easy to get in are as I know to are in San An , Ses Savines , Hawaii Hotel, Milord Hotel , Costa Sur , Pacific Hotel, Mar Amantis 1 , Bergantin Hotel , In Playa Den Bossa are , Fiesta Don Toni , Algarbe , Mare Nostrum In Es Cana Caribe Hotel, Anfora Playa Hotel, Sirenis Coral Playa Hotel this one has a few disabled wetrooms but is away from the village Most hotels have ramps ,if you are booking with Travel Agent ask to see the gazetteer its a book with lots of info for travel agents some have the book some have the online version but I am sure they will help you it has details like door widths ,disabled bathrooms etc there are two places I would miss and thats Portinax because its Hilly and San Miguel not because its not flat not sure about Hotels there as not stayed there have a look on spotlight map
also they have a disabled service at the airport https://wwwssl.aena.es/csee/Satellite?c=Page&cid=1208168439865&pagename=PMR&Language=EN_GB
hope this helps

if anyone else can update info and give more details please do as I know how difficult it is to find Hotels with Disabled facilities and problems which arise

tres carabelas in playa den bossa is a Disabled hotel with rooms for people in wheelchairs ect and bath rooms fitted for them.playa den bossa is the best resort for wheelchairs really.bit bumpy on some parts of pavement but ramp on beach near tres carabalas.

garbi hotel is good for wheelchairs and Disabled people as well.

warren, if i'd ever allowed you to enter my property by anything other than the tradesman's entrance you'd have noticed that san jose council widened our pavement so that the many wheelchair bound visitors to our busy street could trundle up and down in comfort and safety. maybe one day they'll move those lampposts out of the way so you can get a wheelchair past.

From what I see Santa Eulalia is reasonably good in most places, They were having a "drive" on disabled friendly in the winter, I know of bars that had to sort their access etc (change doors round & add ramp & WC access) Also the bigger / more popular beaches have boardwalk`s down to sea, Santa Eu & Cala Lenya I know have,
Cala lenya also has a disabled WC, Blue flag, Bar & lifeguards, Who I believe will assist you if required, It is also nice and safe to swim in with soft gently sloping sand,
The downside being, You will need a car / Taxi to get to and from it,

Have a good one

First I should just mention that it is always a pleasure to use your tradesmans entrance and I hope to have the pleasure again some time.

It's a friend of my mate in the wheelchair that asked me to find out if he could holiday here and I told her the other day about the path in your road.

Believe me mate the UK has to get much worse to compete with the cock ups down here.
