How has Pure Pacha been this year?

Hi everyone

Heading out a week on Wednesday (at last!) and have just been going through the party calendar and cant decide if we should go to Pure Pacha on Friday 25th August.

Has anyone been and if so what was it like?

i love pete tongs radio 1 show and he'll always be a legend on the scene but i personally would never make any effort to go see him as a dj, i dont rate him as a talented dj at all
 
I seen tongy earlier this year in Edinburgh and I was surprised how good he was. I don't rate his R1 show and think he plays a lot of crap on it.

IMO Pure Pacha will be overcrowded and with too many pretentious types that prefer to stand around posing rather than enjoy themselves. On the other hand Viva is also in the global room.
 
i was there on july 28, when bodyrockers, claudio coccoluto and tong himself played. i thought it was a great night soundwise. cool when bodyrockers played live guitar to some tunes, good when coccoluto played his tekhouse-stuff and i also found tong's set to be excellent!

crowdwise: it was full, but not absolutely overcrowded. i guess "f**k me i'm famous"-nights are worse. people were not going off as much as at any party at space, ammesia or dc10, but IMO the crowd at pacha is always A BIT quieter than elsewhere on the island...
 
I went to see him on the 2 Fridays that I was there and I didn’t really think much of him. He didn’t really get the crowd going. The place was jammers too. Groove Armanda were great after him tho. Its just to packed for my liken in there. We ended up going into one of the other smaller rooms and had a much better time bopping away in there. I’ve always wanted to see Eric M but I’ve been told its just madness when he plays in there aswell
 
for the record, his set at the opening party was great, and to follow on from laurent garnier guesting is a big job! so long as you dont go in expecting to hear loads of underground music you'll be fine. i have to admit the first hour or so of his radio show are usually pretty bad, but they are to do away with that anyway soon. hopefully, the 7-8 slot wont be used to seduce scott mills droolers like the current 6-7 slot is.

he admits he doesn't try and keep it underground, just playing whatevers good for the party. i think more people should give him a chance.

right now id imagine pure will be rammed on a Friday in August.
