Group of 3 21 yr old female Ibiza virgins so in urgent need of some words of wisdom! Looking for a decent CHEAP hotel and came across Hotel Tropical...
Anyone stayed there before? Or got any other to recommend? We're going for the music, so would rather avoid the places chavs go for a 'magaluf' experience
Thaaanks :)

This was the first hotel I stayed in Ibiza all the way back in 2003. It was an 18-30 hotel then not sure if thats still the case. Rooms are pretty basic and you do get quite a few groups of chavy lads and girls but its hard to find somewhere in San An these days that does have chavs stayin there. Depends how much your looking to pay. We stayed at the marian apartments with first choice last year and that was much better than the tropical.

Which is closer to sunset strip/nice beaches etc? I guess if you cant avoid the chavs then location is top on the list of priorities!

I will second the Costa Mar as a good choice for what you are looking for. The Gran Sol would also fit the bill and is just around the corner and tends to have a mix of clubbers and families but with out hordes of chavs. Both are a pleasant stroll from the sunset strip, and are right by Buddha and Kanya. You even have a little beach, just avoid it around 7am, there are usually some strange goings on down there . . . .

The marian apartments in closer to the sunset stip than the tropical. Its about 5 minutes away from Kanya. Its in a residential area of San An aswell so they dont stand for much noise which is a good thing if you want to get your head down. We only paid £300 for 2 weeks there last year but think its gone up now. Classed as a 2 star but the rooms and balconys are hugh. Blows the tropical away and I think 18-30 class that as a 3 star

Stayed in the Tropical , its round the corner from Ibiza rocks and just off the west end.

Its a clean decent hotel , air con , wifi etc and the food is basic but at least your eating.

Staff are friendly enough although there is a no noise policy after 12 and the guard can be a bit aggressive. 18-30 occupy the first few floors of the hotel and the rest is made up of families from all over ... hence the noise rule I suppose.

The guard is also awkward about taking people back to your room who arent meant to be there as there is CCTV in every corridor.

Its basic, its decent and its close to everything in San An

Pahahahaha, wise words Hally!!

Never been in the rooms at Tropical, but never heard anyone talking badly of it. Lots of workers used to use their pool and the the pool-area always had a nice vibe. It's a 10 min walk to sunset strip (max), and a stones-throw from the west-end, which you'll no doubt visit at least once!:-)
If it's your cheapest option I say go for it!x

Bay

There are some nice cheap hotels/apartments around the bay, they are mainly on the beach and around nice little coves, easy to get over to the town/sunset strip by the little ferry boats.:)
